Yup, Boarding Shields are just souped up Combat Shields. Yes, still give an invuln, but not the nice 3++ of a Storm Shield. Polux gets one despite wearing regular old power armour. Dude was massive. Between that and the whole power fist thing, he was probably one of the tallest regular Space Marines.

The Alpha Legion as a whole was probably pretty darn close to being the largest SM. They were taller than average and Alpharius was shorter than average, allowing him to blend in to his legion.

Depends on how tall he was. The heavily mutated but-not-dinosaur members of the Black Dragons probably rival him for size, or maybe even surpass him. They're quite the odd collection of freaks.
