Long game in 3rd or 4th ed, my ork opponent had me down to my chaos lord standing on the objective. As long as he didn't control it, I won. I failed to kill him with my lord, he got a single wound with his power claw. Made my 5++ save. Boom, the masses of orks still on the board nor the lord didn't matter. My remaining model won on a 5++.

If you dont short hand your list, Im not reading it.
Example: Assault Intercessors- x5 -Thunder hammer and plasma pistol on sgt.
or Assault Terminators 3xTH/SS, 2xLCs
For the love of God, GW, get rid of reroll mechanics. ALL OF THEM! |

1500pts of Harleys vs my Nids.
Came down to a final turn fight between my lone surviving Carnifex, at full health, and the Solitair with 1W left (which had already killed my Swarmlord with it's instant death attack). I think there was about two other members of a troup left but that was all that was left alive by that point. My Fex charged and killed the Solitair with it's HoW attacks, but the Solitair made it's instant death attack on me as well and they killed each other, giving my oponent the game having two Players left alive.

Wolves and GK against BA in 6th. Turn 5 I'm ahead by 1 point. BA charge my Hunters with my Warlord Wolf Priest just ahead of my deployment zone. His TH/SS Warlord and my Priest enter a challenge. My sad AP 4 attacks bounce off his TDA and he puts 4 ID wounds on my Priest.
I make every Invul and deny both Warlord and Linebreaker as the game ends securing the victory.

A 2v2 Tau vs Necrons game back in the beginning days of 7th edition that ultimately came down to 3 pathfinders making a 5 inch difficult terrain move and a 5 inch run that got them to grab the main objective with an inch to spare. My team mate was down to a few Fire Warriors and not much else while I still had those pathfinders, a hammerhead, some fire warriors with a Fireblade camping some ruins (they shot down 2 night scythes through the power of the Fireblade willing the Fire Warriors to shoot faster). Necrons had 2 of those FW pylon turrets with the beam laser, a unit of immortals that failed a moral check after eating a large blast from the Ionhead, and a 3rd night scythe that flew off the board after jinking to get out with 1 HP.

I was behind in points. Last turn. Vet Sgt. of Assault squad unable to kill a lone Kalabite warrior. Literally cost me the game.
Missed all it's hits on a charge then in CC was able to hit but the warrior made the FNP

My closest game was a maelstrom game. The entire match we were within 1 point of each other at the end of the game turn. My opponent finishes his turn 7 1 point ahead. The only objectives I can claim are both for capturing the same point which my opponent has a well emplaced very tanky non objsec unit on. I fire everything I have left at the squad bar 1 objsec wave serpent and kill about half the unit. The serpent then turbo boosts towards the objective but has to stop 2mm out of range of the objective because I couldn't be within an inch of my the enemy unit.

Played a game over the weekend that was His KDK vs my Ultramarines. The mission required half of our armies start in reserve, with the half on the table being troops and whatever else you can deploy with the left over numbers.
He put his Chaos Lord on juggernaut with his Bloodletters to start the game, while my Chapter Master Smashface was off the board, but came in turn one thanks to a mission special rule with the centurion star.
Needless to say, a big fight broke out in the middle of the board, with me in the rear on the kill the enemy primary objective. His Lord was down to one wound, my Smashface was down to one wound. Last round of the game due to time.
His Goredrinker whiffs and fails to wound. I kill the juggerlord for STW and enough points to push me into the lead.
I win with an 8-0 and move on to lose to the guy who took best overall. Can't be to salty about losing to best overall, I suppose! (He played CSM with a nurgle daemon allied detachment. It was a highlander tournie, so I suppose that helped - and smash face deciding to whiff four invulnerable saves out of about 7 wounds didn't help either...)

Orks vs kdk. Dread mob vs some hounds and bikers and cultists and a maulerfiend. All that was left on the board at the end were a few cultists, the chaos jugger lord with 1 wound left, and a single kills kan... I think there were 5-7 models total out of over a hundred that started on the table...
|
My Armies:
Orks about 15000-16000 mostly unpainted but slowly being worked on
Militarum Tempestus about 2000 points just built
Inquisition about 2000 points unpainted
Officio Assassinorum 570 unpainted
I dont paint quickly |

Most Recent battle was against a Battle Company. ITC mision. I played with my Eldar (no, not your typical Eldar)
I defeated it but we tied the Primary, Tieed the Secondary and neither of us could get anything but the First Blood Point.
So i won with First Blood. Took every ounce of my brain to beat it. Felt kinda spent afterwards.

Last Thursday. Last turn. Needed to destroy a flying storm raven due to it would land on bottom of turn and take the objective. My lone assault cent with melta was my only hope. Needed 6 to hit. 6. Needed to explode it. Exploded. Opponent had nothing left to get his objective. Winner winner chicken was for dinner.
