They're semi-decent sculpts, but more fitting of a Beastman than a Wulfen imo. I was hoping for something more subtle -I thought the previous "Grey hunter with mark of the Wulfen" models hit the mark with their distorted features and claw-like nails, so if they'd updated that concept it would have been great, as opposed to releasing a model that looks like it jumped straight out of the pages of a Twilight novel. Won't be bothering with them myself -if I want to make Wulfen I'd sooner convert some regular sw figures with head and hand swaps.

One thing I'm glad of is Krom and the new Ulric and Iron Priest, it's been a long and frustrating wait for GW to make long overdue replacements of the ageing SW character range.

Santa is a nice character sculpt too, though I'd sooner forget the existence of his sleigh, Murderfang or that flying design travesty that is the Stormwolf. I went and bought myself a Forge World Fire Raptor rather than use that...thing.

Murderfang has cool weapons; you just have to ignore the stupid part of the kit where he's saying hello to the outside world. Poking a head out of the Dreadnought looks just plain...stupid.

Even a broken clock is right once a day. I'm sure you'll find others who share your taste. You're just very much in the minority. I'm going to chime in with the larger group in this thread and say I hate the models. God awful. I dislike Space Wolves in general, but these are a special level of hell.

That is a good example. I'm looking at it and think, "WTF!?!?!" But I know there are plenty of people who think this hussar is equally ridiculous.

I'm not hot with them either. Whilst I prefer them to the flanderizatio disaster that was the plastic Logan Grimnar, they still look far too OTT and cartoony (wolf feet espically), kind of like the metal Possessed released for the Medusa V. Even worse the recommended price is a complete joke compared to WG terminator boxset.

The best thing I can say about them is that there's probably a decent chaos champion conversion in there somewhere.

Now I may not be the most dedicated SW fan out there or anything but I feel like embracing mutation like this isn't the right way to go. This is wildly unacceptable geneseed deviation. Usually they call that sort of thing a "cursed founding" and disband the chapter.

It's an Ur-Ghul.

It was ridiculous. It was real.

If real soldiers actually dressed up in such costumes for war, and were the apple of the eye of all the ladies, who are we to query the Wulfen?

It's not, it has this ridge of bone running over it like a mohawk that isn't on the urghul's head. The eye arrangement doesn't match the clawed fiend however. Also a side view shows a much more elongated face than the fiend. I might be wrong, probably am, but the shape of it reminds me a bit of genestealers so I'd guess with the spines it might actually be a broodlord.

I don't hate them. I don't necessarily think they're great. But they aren't that bad. They are indeed over the top. I think they suffer a bit from Minotaur syndrome, a good paint job without as much edge highlighting might do them wonders. Also, there are alternative (and better) poses for Karate Kid. GW in general seems completely incapable of gluing together good poses for their miniature pics.

That being said, I also really like Santas sleigh and the new Stormwolf. But the murderface is fething terrible. Just terrible.

Either way, Ulric the slayer, the new Iron Priest and Krom are all really wonderful sculpts. And SW have had all of their list more or less updated with new boxes that look really nice. So if you don't want to use the over the top stuff you don't have to. At least the option is there.

The new models really just need new faces, imo, and they'd be indescribably better than they are now. What is with those freaking pig-faces?

It looks like they were trying to combine the features from both regular SW and Fenrisian Wolves into one, but obviously didn't do a very good job

By Russ' @$$!! Haters can hate all they want.

I think the new models are neat, except for the one that's Shakespearing the hell out of his pose. lol.

Sergeant looks BAMF, and the weapons are boss. The rules are fun and fluffy, and as for Logan's sleigh, you don't have to take it. GG.

Murderfang is cool too.

Idk why there are soo many haters, it's a good thing there are like dozens of other chapters then.

I personally will be enjoying these new models, and the little lore books that came out. I hope you guys enjoy playing whatever armies you play, except Eldar players who run Warspiders. I hate you.

See, the problem is that werewolves aren't associated with complex martial arts, but rather brute strength. So when I see that model, I don't think Crane Kick, I think Cancan dancer.

Most people have put forward explanations as to why they're not impressed, shouldn't be too much of a mystery.

There's the fact that the models seem static and out of place with the rest of the line, that the represent a further travesty of the SW's taking an interesting theme and running with it it past the point of believability and straight into parody or bad internet fanfiction, and that they're just *really* expensive to boot.

I like that its showing what marine implants and black carapace looks like underneath the armor... and that's about all I can honestly say in favour of them.

They should really look more like this in my opinion:

I think I would like them better if their armour looked less like they were wearing shorts and singlets with a few specific pieces of armour over the top but rather like they had been wearing real power armour once and parts have had to been torn off by claws to make room for their mutations, others have fallen off due to battle damage that was never repaired, and more has simply had mutations breath through them.

It was my introduction to traditional games, and there was a time when I enjoyed it very much. I want to buy 40k, but Gamesworkshop is doing their very best to push me away, and simply not buying their product won't tell them that.

At first I wasn't entirely sold on the models, but seeing the unpainted models in the plastic and having a look at the sprues, they honestly look fantastic. Great details, highly poseable (no, you don't have to give the sergeant the crane pose or use the skull hands), looots of spare parts, nice design on the weapons and armour (love the hammers), faces look good with a better paint job, huge amount of spare parts...

I have arrived, and it is now that I perform my charge.
In fealty to the God-Emperor, our undying Lord, and by the grace of the Golden Throne, I declare Exterminatus upon the Wulfen and all who support them.

May Imperial Justice account in all balance.

Dead on, that was always the image that stuck with me for Wulfen.I dislike the tendency towards ott designs the company have taken in recent years -increasingly big skull count on Khornate models, etc. It all leans towards a silliness that isn't fitting for 40k.
