Honestly, I've always thought that all the space wolves models were kinda bad. The stupid hairstyles always bugged me. This just seems like a natural continuation of that trend. The thunderwolf Calvary aren't bad, and I actually like the fenrisian wolves, but for the most part I dislike the rest of the range. Granted, most of it is pretty out dated at this point.

I think that the wulfen models have a lot of potential, and could look really cool with some conversion work, but I wish they looked more like the wulfen in the Lost and the Damned supplement from back in 3rd.

I like the Wulven models a lot, except the pose of that leader guy. It is like he is attempting to fly using his arms.
Apart from that, they are Viking werewolves. Vikings are awesome, werewolves are awesome, how can you not think Viking werewolves are awesome?

I really, really don't like how the sergeants arms are so much thicker than the legs, and his mouth looks like he's doing that open mouthed grin. Perhaps if he looked like he was snarling and his arms weren't so cartoonishly out of proportion it'd be much better.

Does anyone know what type of skull he has behind his head. Dark eldar also have the same skull in their trophies but I can seem to match it to a creature

My initial reaction was a clawed fiend but I'm 99% sure I'm wrong.

It's an Ur-Ghul.
Spoiler:

Really honking big one, I think, as the skull looks bigger than the head on that one.

It's the other way around. It's a baby Clawed Fiend. There's a similar skull on the Vemon sprue IIRC.

Yup. The Venom. FWIW there is an Ur Ghul skull there too. http://www.bitsandkits.co.uk/dark-eldar-venom-tropheys-p-7693.html

I personally find them a little too cartoony. And as others have said, they seem to be taking the wolf theme a bit to far. If I remember right, the old fluff said that "Space Wolves" was actually a mistranslation. The SW called themselves the "Der Volk von Fenris" (The People of Fenris) (I don't speak German, so sorry if the translation is wrong). Outsiders heard this as "The Wolves of Fenris". This changed at some point, and now the SW put wolves on everything, stopping just short of painting hippy wolf murals on the sides of their Rhinos.

I bought 10, cool miniatures IMO, the problem is that GW forgot about "how to paste your bits so your models look cool"

You just have to avoid non hairy heads. I have a mohawk myself but I don´t like them in a Wulfen, sorry but IMO Wulfen should be beasty, they shouldn't be caring about their style, sooo lots of fur. You have lots of different heads to choose.

AND MOST IMPORTANT avoid building the main Pack Leader as it is written in the instructions. Just add bit number 3 instead the 151 (spare feet that comes in the matrix) , the pack leader will lean forward instead, looking much better. OR build Wulfen nº 6. It is another option using the bits of the Pack Leader, but much much much much cooler, in fact it is the best Wulfen IMO. Funny enough GW forgot about him, it does not appear in a single image.....
