Just been messing around on the webstore to see what levels of ridiculousness £2k could get me...

- Enough terrain to build a plastic hive city (+ all the terrain you get anyway).

- a sizable cult mechanicus/Skitarii army.

- a load of Inquistor characters and half dozen Imoerial Guard tanks

- another half dozen guard/scions kits

- 2 Knights

And I am still only on the £1.7k range lol

Bye bye Dakkadakka, happy hobbying! I really enjoyed my time on here. Opinions were always my own :-)

That amount of dough would allow me to finish my battle company of Crimson Fists and a full-size First Company Task Force, and build a complete Battle Company and 1st Company of Blood Angels.

But that all depends on if this is going to be available to the US any time soon.

It won't. Not in the format that stupid laws prevent.

Im sure if they tried they could find a way around it, its not like thats hard.

In any case that amount of money would finish my Orks, my Nids, my Ultramarines and probably get me a fair chunk of, if not all, of a Necron army.

I can't think of £2000 of anything I need for any of my armies. Not even close. Maybe I'd just get Imperial Knights with it, were they to figure out a loophole and I were to win. Could get some monster Knight households and a bunch of Freeblades with that much. 20 knights, in the UK version of this giveaway, that's enough to do each of the Freeblades I want to do, and probably do the Griffith, Cadmus, and some AdMech aligned house that comprise my pipe dream of Imperial Knights.

Now, if it could be used on FW stuff, that's another story, LOTS I could get from there to fill out both 30k and 40k armies, and I'd exhaust all of it just filling out Alpha Legion and Thousand Sons.

Are people here saying GW is not all that expensive after all?

There is this thing called "Forge World" which is technically a part of GW...

I am selling an original "Iron Warriors" painting by Karl Kopinski: http://www.ebay.ca/itm/121232313078?ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1555.l2649

It is absolutely amazing that you snipped just that one thing out of my post in order to say "forge world", when I directly addressed FW in a substantial portion of the stuff that you cut out.

It isn't hard - but it involves doing what GW does not want to do - allow people to enter without making a purchase.

Even something as minor as those contests to win a giant Easter basket/stuffed Christmas stocking/Pot o' (chocolate) gold coins for St. Patty's Day, have to allow an alternate way to enter without making a purchase.

GW does not want to do that.

Nor is the law quite as stupid as some might think - there were verified ties between sweepstakes and organized crime in New York at the time these laws started coming into play.
