War Walker Pilot with Withering Fire

A shadow loomed over the Helbrute, eclipsing all light. The Imperial Knight, leaking lubricating fluid and sparking at the joints, turned its main guns towards it. He looked left and right, seeing his allies rapidly being banished back to the warp by the Space Marine forces.

"NO! Khorne will not be denied this day!" the Helbrute yelled, loping into a frenzied run toward the titanic war machine. "Blood for the Blood God!"

The Helbrute leaped, warp-empowered sinew propelling it to the heart of the Knight. His power fist extended, it smashed through the cermaite-armored chest of the Knight, breaching the reactor shielding. A nova of light and heat surrounded the Helbrute the titanic war machine staggered, explosions rippling through its hull.

"Khorne will have your skull for his throne."

The Dog-house

10 Guardsmen veterans. 2 Melta guns, 1 heavy flamer. Sarge has a plasma pistol. Squad has defensive grenades from their tactics I can't remember the name of. Insert a bloodthirster here. Blood thirster hits the ground and charges. He loses 1 would on Overwatch, then proceeds to lose 3 more in CC... Against guardmen. They lock into combat. Imperial Knight shows up behind the Bloodthrister. There was a charge and a roll of a 6 on the Destroyer table. Bloodthirster is turned into ribbons.

H.B.M.C.- The end hath come! From now on armies will only consist of Astorath, Land Speeder Storms and Soul Grinders!
War Kitten- Vanden, you just taunted the Dank Lord Ezra. Prepare for seven years of fighting reality...
koooaei- Emperor: I envy your nipplehorns. <Magnus goes red. Permanently>
Neronoxx- If our Dreadnought doesn't have sick scuplted abs, we riot.
Frazzled- I don't generally call anyone by a term other than "sir" "maam" "youn g lady" "young man" or " HEY bag!"
Ruin- It's official, we've ran out of things to talk about on Dakka. Close the site. We're done.
mrhappyface- "They're more what you'd call guidlines than actual rules" - Captain Roboute Barbosa
Steve steveson- To be clear, I'd sell you all out for a bottle of scotch and a mid priced hooker.

Around 5th edition.
I was playing a CSM army of the black legion.
I was getting punished by an 8 man SM, 4 plasma cannon squad.
As my tactical squad tried to climb the hill, I was reduced to only a couple men and looked like I would die like a dog trying to get there.
I had a banner of khorne and summoned some bloodletters just in charging range and destroyed that squad.
It was glorious.

I've noticed that many of these stories involve something Khorne-related, whether inflicting the damage or receiving it. Guard seem to be runner up. Fits the fluff, I would think.

Revel in the glory of the site's greatest thread or be edetid and baned!

Indeed. I had an Eldar anti-metal moment once - a squad of termies deep struck behind my lines and proceeded to shoot stuff up. A pair of war walkers proceeded to look at them the wrong way, shrug, and watch they all fell over in a single volley.

Varying metal, but I have a few moments from when I used to play 40k.

Probably the most metal:

Large early 5th edition Apoc game of "bring what you have up to X points" with a cap of I think 1000. Of course the Loyalist side is far better equipped and has Guard, SM, and Tau, and the other side consists of a few scattered Chaos things. I brought my dual LC terminator lord, and a beefed up squad of Terminators, and was on the far end of the board. In the first few turns I lost a few Terminators slogging towards the Loyalists. Their Baneblade didn't managed to take out any IIRC, most of them went down to massed fire. Chainfist guy can-opened a Godhammer, and that drew the attention of the Loyalist players. In what could only be described as complete favour of the Dark Gods, my Terminator Lord took on assault SM, bore the brunt of nearly the entire Loyalist side shooting at him over several turns, murdered a Death-Cult assassin, and chased off a Tau Commander, surviving as the only model left on our team until time was called. With the Chaos codex being what it has been, and my interest in 40k waning until emptying completely around mid-6th, I've never used him again.

In early 6th one of my Crypteks Lance-sniped several characters over several games, including Ahriman.

Then only in 5th:
A squad of Fire Warriors beat up a Lictor in close combat.
A Crisis Suit watched his buddy get multi-melta'd to death by a Throne of Judgement, so went over and held it up in combat for several turns, even managing to wound it, whilst I mopped up.
A Broadside was charged by a Scout squad with a Power Sword Sergeant who made the fatal mistake of wounding it, pissing it off and causing him to punch two scouts in the face with his missile systems and chase them off, shaking his missile systems at them and yelling "YOU KIDS GET OFF MY LAWN!".

My Tau were consistently better in melee than shooting.

Mandorallen turned back toward the insolently sneering baron. 'My Lord,' The great knight said distantly, 'I find thy face apelike and thy form misshapen. Thy beard, moreover, is an offence against decency, resembling more closely the scabrous fur which doth decorate the hinder portion of a mongrel dog than a proper adornment for a human face. Is it possibly that thy mother, seized by some wild lechery, did dally at some time past with a randy goat?' - Mimbrate Knight Protector Mandorallen.

What's left of Cadia

I actually have a new one from a tournament I attended last Sunday. So it's an 1850 pt "Frankenstein" format game. What that meant was essentially, people could bring whatever the feth they wanted from any codex and have it all count as battle brothers with each other. So naturally there's some pretty scary gak there, and I'm the one idiot who still brought a mostly Marine list. So I have a 10 man Sternguard Veteran Squad holding down the fort in a large ruin. Most of the rest of my army has been whittled down to nearly nothing, thanks to a combination of two Imperial Knights, a Dreadknight, and a Soulgrinder. My opponent sends a massive unit of 20 Seekers (I think that's the right name at least) at my unit of Sternguard. The blob gets to within spitting distance of my Sternguard and declares a charge. After the dust settled 5 Seekers had been shot down, making the unit fail their charge. My turn my Sternguard proceed to plant their feet, and blast most of the remaining unit off of the board with Hellfire rounds. Then it's my opponent's go again, and he moves up and declares yet another charge against my Sternguard, who then proceed to shoot down the remainder of the unit in a hail of boltgun fire. Glorious

TheEyeOfNight- I swear, this thread is 70% smack talk, 20% RP organization, and 10% butt jokes
TheEyeOfNight- "Ordo Xenos reports that the Necrons have attained democracy, kamikaze tendencies, and nuclear fission. It's all tits up, sir."
Space Marine flyers are shaped for the greatest possible air resistance so that the air may never defeat the SPACE MARINES!
Sternguard though, those guys are all about kicking ass. They'd chew bubble gum as well, but bubble gum is heretical. Only tau chew gum

At a Place, Making Dolls Great Again

I would say when my Canoness walked up to a Tervagon (the burrowing one) and iced it in close combat.
Or in the same battle my immolator drove up and roasted a unit of genestealers.

Or I could be a smart ass and say my snotling army is the most metal.
