We all have those really cool, really exciting, really surprising moments in wargaming. I want to know what is your "most metal" moment. Your most brutal, most bloody, most badass, moment that reminded you why you love wargaming.
For starters, I was playing some 40k with a buddy of mine, Salamander Space marines vs his Tyranids. A situation came up where I ran over 12 of his hormagaunts with a Heavy Flamer Razorback , disembarked a 5 man sternguard who tore up the field in the same turn. Needless to say that unit of hormagaunts didn't last long.
I went on to lose the game, but we both agreed that was the best thing that happened wargaming in a long time.
Any of you have a similar moment in your wargaming history that really sticks out as your most "metal moment"?

Back in either 4th or 5th ed I was playing Tau and my opponent was playing Chaos.
His unit of bloodthirsters charged my unit of fire warriors with an ethereal
All the fire warriors died, but by sheer luck of the die...nay... will of the gods themselves! That etheral survived much longer than seemingly possible and eventually killed the bloodthirsters.

Back when Dark Angels still had the crappy 6th ed. codex, I was facing a Necron player in a tournament. He wasn't using a Decurion, but rather a CAD. I had a drop pod with Azrael and a Tactical squad drop in behind the lines where my opponent's Overlord and some Lychguard were. I also tried to drop a Deathwing squad back there, but they scattered off the board and mishapped. The Overlord and Lychguard charged Azzy's unit, and the Overlord challenged Azzy to a duel (he had to due to his warlord trait). I accepted, and Azzy proceeded to chop the Overlord into tiny metal bits in one turn of combat. That Overlord failed all his saves, including RP. This is why I have decided that whenever I get around to rebasing Azrael there will be a Necron head on his base, as at the time I thought it was epic (even though I ended up losing the game).
Another good one was the time was when my Attack Bike shot down a Flyrant, although it is less epic when I tell you that that Flyrant was already on his last wound.

Mine was actually in a recent tournament I attended. 1250 points, my Ultramarines vs Orks. The game hadn't been going all that well for me so far (my Dreadnought stubbed his toe on some ruins and immobilized himself, one of my Rhinos was parked on top of a truck etc). I had a Tactical Squad advancing through some ruins to capture an objective. Well a unit of Shoota boyz (15 strong) shoots at the unit and kills several before charging them. After all is said and done, the Tac Squad is chopped down to one man. If the Marine runs then my opponent gets to secure his foothold on the objective. I need this Marine to pass his leadership. He does so. Over the next 4 turns this one Marine proceeds to beat several of the Shoota boys to death with his bolter, all the while surviving all the blows that are coming back at him! At the end of the 4th turn the boyz broke and ran, and the Marine ran them all down. That Tactical Marine now leads a squad of his own

First time I ever used Draigo (shocker, right?).
Played against two buddies with my GK's (they ran Tyranids and Necrons) back in 6th before either of their armies had been updated (the Tervigon was worth spamming and no Decurion).
So, game proceeds to it's logical outcome, I get overrun. Draigo charges a unit of termagaunts, kills most of them, gets charged by two more squads of gaunts, some necron warriors, the necron hq and the tervigon. He goes on to kill 90% of everything single handed - I know he's cheese incarnate, but MAN that was awesome.

3rd ed. My khorne berzerker was undefeated. In one game my HQ's retinue got charged by a unit of genestealers (back when there was no save against power weapons, big choppas or stealer claws). Stealers go first with a bucket full of attacks...and kill no berzerkers. Berzerkers hit back, every single dice hits, every hit wounds, and every genestealer gets made dead. Look of sheer surprise on the guy's face was beautiful.

A de-meched Squad of IG huddles outside the burning wreck of their Chimera. They fire upon the Havok Squad that destroyed their transport. The IG sergeant with laspistol rolls a precision shot, and I allocate the hit on the Havok Squad's Aspiring Champion and wound with a 5. He fails his armor save, and after suffering another casualty from a lasgun, the squad is forced to roll morale. He rolls a 9, which would have been sufficient if his Aspiring Champ was still alive! The following turn they try to rally, but roll another 9!
Best. Precision. Shot Ever.

Actually I thought of another great moment for me that is much more recent. I was in a team tournament, and me and my teammate were both running Khorne Daemonkin. We each had a CAD, and both had some Bloodletters as troops (among other things). Those Bloodletters, thanks to that wonderful Blood Tithe table, JUST WOULD NOT DIE in the first game of that event. They kept making their 5+ invuln saves, or their FnP. After that game I was saying that Khorne was going to promote them all to Heralds in his army.

I have another one as well. 1500 IG (me) vs DA (Ravenwing). My army has been battered down to Knight Commander Taylor (Pask counts as) in a Punisher Leman Russ, while he had a big old unit of Black Knights (6 strong) bearing down on him. Now, thanks to Pask's Warlord Trait I had preferred enemy against his entire army. My Tank Commander then turns his tank around to face the Black Knights, and opens fire with everything he has. My opponent opted not to jink (as he had never fought Pask before and didn't know just how nasty he could be). Out of the 20 shots from the main gun, 18 ended up hitting (after PE), and 12 ended up wounding (with 5 of those being Rending wounds). One second there was a Black Knight squad, the next second they were reduced to a red mist.

Ha! The other player couldn't belIeve it. The fact that he rolled two 9s in a row, exactly what he needed to fail without that model, was what stuck out in my memory. You never think about that point of Ld until you absolutely need it!

Resolute Ultramarine Honor Guard

Back she I was a much younger lad, my poor imperial guardsmen found themselves in the receiving end of a charge from some Death Company.
Staring death in the face, those guardsmen said "Nay! We shall not go quietly into the night!"
They proceeded to lay a smack down on those death company, and this was back in they days when they were not fearless. The foul blood suckers fled before the sheer brass balls those soldiers displayed.
Another time, my tactical squad was killed down to the sergeant by my Tau opponent. To finish him off (and get the objective) a 20 man kroot squad with a shaper at the front charged the heroic marine.
He proceeded to kill the Shaper, like the true Scion of Guilliman that he is. The rest of the Kroot, upon seeing his manliness in action, fled like the cowards they are.
He cut all of them down.
Finally, the same sergeant faced off against a Chaos Nurgle Sorceror on bike right after the 6th Chaos codex dropped. That Sorceror rued the day he bought a Force Axe, as the Sergeant proceeded to cut him down, bringing glory to Macragge and securing the victory for the Emperor!

Have two that spring to mind, neither fit the usual definition of awesome, but both are examples of why I played warhammer.
1st: 7th edition Orcs & Goblins list, amusing magical misfire table that can harm your own units. Enemy rolled a dice for table sides, then for the first turn (I won both), before he did anything else half my army was dead, fleeing or had fled the table due to spectacular miscast rolls. - this sort of rubbish is why I play orcs, they are always entertaining.
2nd: 8th edition, using Bretonnians, in one turn three damsels detonated, ripped apart the lances they were in, taking a few characters down a wound as they did so, ripped the core from the army. and they went on to win... to this day no idea how, think I was facing someone who had the sort of luck my orcs normally do.
Not had anything similar in 40k, my IG tended towards have what was statistically the most probable outcome, my marines always lost but never in an amusing way and my Tyrannies haven't had enough games to do anything amusing as yet.

Having a Knight Paladin go toe to toe with Commander Farsight, another Tau Commander with the Donkey Puncher and a full squad of Crisis Suit bodyguards, with assorted shield drones and winning by killing one of the drones, then wiping out the rest of the unit in a sweeping advance. I honestly did not expect my poor Knight to survive that, nor manage to pull that move off.
I also fondly remember the first time I brought a Knight Paladin, the very same above, to a game of 40k against the same Tau player. This was when they were first out and they were still quite scary, so a lot of the game was spent running away from it. Until I ended up charging Farsight and his bodyguards, mind full of awesome imagery of what a Reaper chainsword would no doubt do to a few tins full of fish. However.. he managed to slap the gak out of my Knight quite effortlessly and survived the Knight blowing up as well. After that Farsight became something of a big game hunter when it came to Knights.

Back in 6th I was running a DE with a splash of Eldar (mostly a squad of rangers because I liked the models).
Played a game against my friend's Necrons and due to target priority, left his Catan alone until he found himself within charge range of said rangers along a defense line.
He declares, I overwatch with the group. Everyone hits. Everyone wounds. All saves are failed. It was glorious.

I have 2.
First was with my Tomb Kings vs High Elves. The guy had all of his characters outside of units. I opened up my Casket of Souls and after a lot of really bad rolling all of his characters were dead and half of his units were wiped out. I even asked if he wanted to start over cuz I felt bad, but he said no let's just keep going.
Another time was when Apocalypse was brand new, i was up against a chaos army with a big flying tzeetch tower thing. After a bad round of rolling for me, I fired a lone krak missile at the tower, and a few 6's later it was a steaming pile of blue rubble.

4th Ed 40K, I charge my librarian at a carnifex, kill it outright with the forceweapon. My mate vows revenge and the hive tyrant charges in, then 3 warriors, then some hormagaunts. 3 combat rounds later he's still there, trying desperately to wound the tyrant. My mate gets so frustrated with him tying up all those models he drops a spore mine on them, which kills 2 warriors, half the hormagaunts and does nothing to my librarian.
He got stomped by the tyrant after 6 rounds of combat.
I then created a new model for my librarian using Chaplain Cassius as a base.

Two stories, both 6th ed., both my IG against Necrons
First game, I ended up tabled, but I had a squad of 6 veterans beat down his Overlord still at 2 wounds with 2+ armor for StW on his turn. So my turn comes, and as they continue to move away from the bulk of his remaining forces (his army was getting quite sparse, but not half a squad of veterans sparse), and in the shooting phase, my melta snapshots at a nearby Night Scythe, but out of melta range. No junk, 6 to hit, 6 to pen, 6 for Explodes! No more flier.
In a later game of Planetstrike, the Crons use their secret hatch thing to dump a Wraith/Destroyer Lord unit right in front of my infantry, including my lone Company Commander. Over the course of 2 turns, the CC guns down two of the Wraiths that were wounded by other means with nothing but a single laspistol.. The next turn, Destroyer Lord (now alone) either charges and wipes a different unit or fails his charge. My CC finally misses a shot, so things are looking bad, until a Vendetta swoops by and obliterates the DL before my Warlord gets minced. I assume his third shot wasn't even a laspistol, it must've been an air strike flare.

Next turn, khorne threw a skull at the wierdboy and killed him in retaliation (the khorne's skulls thing came up on the warp storm table, got a direct hit on the wierdboy, failed one LOS, instakilled).
