I like those prospero marines a lot. The painted squad too, it's neat to see individuality with marines like that,

Finally had a little time to work on hobby stuff again. Might be the last for another week...

Got a base on this sicaran and have started a bit of the details. Sponsons will be magnetized

Base colors on some mk iiis. I regret attaching their shoulder pads pre painting

And a few more tacs I assembled at the same time as the ones above. Got their base grey on but that's about it so far

Thanks for the comments guys. It helps keep me motivated

Well, I wanted to finish something before I went on leave but I couldn't quite get there. Close though. Arms are magnetized and I'll eventually do some close combat type weapons (maybe...)

Rifleman dred is practically done save fore some weathering. I don't really like the banner that came with it so. Think I'll cover that divot on top with a smoke launcher. Anyways, it's about done to a fair tabletop quality and hopefully I can play with it soon.

I don't know why the matte finish I use keeps coming out slightly glossy. Maybe it's too old.

Don't ask me why o started a new different project in the midst of what I was doing. I dont know.

Imperial guard based on ww2 USMC. I have some alternate heads on the way. Hopefully this won't draw me too much away from my space Wolves.

So, I need to come up with a name for the troops. "Marines" is taken so the will be naval troops. Something Like Special Detachment Naval Troopers or something.

I bought a start collecting set and an armored fist set. They are coming along but not quite finished.

Squad 1 just needs heads and a bit of something on he bases.

Squad 2 needs heads and a few details

Heads from Mad Robot Miniatures (even female heads. How progressive of me!)

Working on a leman russ. I wanted to base it on ww2 USMC but camo as opposed to simple OD green. This is kind of like some of the uncommon camo schemes they used but didn't really come out ot my liking. I havent decided whether I'm going to keep it or not.

Even less happy with how this came out. I will likely just go over it with an OD green and heavily weather it. I don't like the laser array. It looks wierd but I don't know what to do. I will likely paint the holes to look like windows

Commissar is primed but thats as far as ive gotten

As I finish units I plan to put out a little fluff. I will also take better quality photos.

These guys are naval troops that specialize in roles such as seizing footholds on planets and conducing boarding actions. They tend to have cocky, arrogant attitudes and believe themselves to be better than the average Astra Militarum (it's probably just in their heads). A couple of famous campaigns they fought in were the defense of Lignum Bellus and the Eastern Rim "planet hopping" campaign.

Well, I put the heads on. I was quite saddened to find they didn't really fit. Of course I didn't even check them before I started painting. A litlte green stuff helped but Im not confident the heads will remain on the shoulders...

slopped some paint on a commissar. Did him this evening. Thought he was finished but I see a few things in the pic I want to change.

Made a little progress on the vehicles that came in the Start Collecting and Armored Fist boxes. Now i need some decals and weathering but they are done enough to play with now. Just need to finish these up and then all I have left from the boxes is the heavy weapons team. Im experimenting with the heavy weapon. They are too ridiculously large to expect two human soldiers to move around on their own. I have the track sections from a taurox and im looking at rigging up a rapier-esque device.

Anyways, here's my latest progress.

I was going to tell you that the camo Chimera looked pretty good, but then I saw the repainted version and I definitely like that better.

Also, the camo detail on the troops is very well done. Good job!

As I am wont to do, I have started yet another ongoing project. I got out some stuff I had laying around that (like may other things) I bought and never did anything with. Slapped some models together and got out the ol' airbrush to start some Raptors.

Here's a peal at the start.

I used Vallejo Armor Green over Burnt umber with the burnt umber still showing in some crevices.

I stopped by Frontline Gaming's shop the other night to pick up a couple of things I had on order and stumbled upon a large lot of Kasrkin figs> I had recently acquired a small few but now I have enough for an entire army! I prefer them greatly to the standard Cadian figs. Something about the wrist guards and kneepads adds so much. I know they have the wonky cables that indicate hotshot lasguns but I will likely use them interchangeably with regular guardsmen... don't really know yet

Quick digression - I have been super impressed with the folks at Frontline Gaming. I have found myself in their shop frequently lately and they have been incredibly friendly and pleasant even though their shop is more of a formality for their mail order business than an actual store. Great guys who have earned a lot of business from me. If you are in San Diego I suggest you check them out. They are prepping a section of their shop to have gaming tables and such. If you're not in San Diego I recommend them for your mail order business. Good people.

Anyways...

So, my "weekend" (if it can be called that) consisted of a Sunday afternoon off. I made what progress I could.

Here's about 100 Kasrkins. A bunch need stripping

About 30 more I started on

And my Dan Daly and Chesty Puller

also, I think I solved my heavy weapons issue. I will just munt them on these. Either they will be those Elysian dune buggy things or they will be simply asthetic and I'll just ove them along with the squads they are attached to.

hopefully I will be able to make bits and pieces of progress over the coming weeks.

So, I have been continuing work on my raptors. I am building a talon strike force and have made quite a bit of progress in assembly and base coats but not much in actua painting.

Here is my first whack at a Lias Issodon. I hope to paint him on Sunday (my first full day off in almost a month)

I will, of course, infiltrate some grav cents. I bought a few cheap on ebay and have used them to experiment with. I have found I prefer their appearance without the shoulder pads and groin armor. If I was less lazy I would shave off all the extra iconography (I feel like that extra stuff would not be considered practical by Raptors). Anyways. Most of the colors are on the first one. There is some glue damage that will just be painted as battle damage but its coming out ok. Not sure I like the color I chose for the storage pouches. I may change them to a black leather color. I will also drill out barrels on any cents I build from new.

Hopefully I'll make a bit of progress over the weekend.

Lots of Jump troops, Devs (was going to be a skyhammer annihilation force) scouts and scout bikes en route.
