I upgraded/nerfed my devilfish to have a twin linked burst canon for 15 points... Um.... I do this on six devilfish?

This entirely. Even with a drop pod they die to everything, walking they have an extra 2 turns of walking to die to everything.

I do regularly use smoke launchers on rhinos if it's night fight and I have first turn. Move them up the field, pop your smoke, get a 50% chance they'll make it close enough for the stuff inside to get to the other side of the board. Same way if I just park an empty rhino on an objective late in the game.

40 point 2 wound Heavy Flamers with no movement boosting abilities, a 4+, a rule that means they actually explode if they die (in the middle of a horde army with low saves to boot) and best of all - Instinctive Behaviour: Feed.
