I'm sure I'm not the only one here thinking of running the IH formation with the 2 Smash Bros, plus a 3rd with SS/Relic Blade (hes like waluigi maybe?) each with their own command squads... Just not sure if one goes in a Demi-Co to get some ObSec, or use the Armoured Task force as Core and have 3 vindicators with PotMS, and use 3 Strike force commands....

Something about having 3 36" range S10 Ap1 plates is still scary around the 3 Bros...

The command squad as a whole is very resilient. It took about 20 wounds to take down just one model (3+\3++\3+++ FNP).

It really does all revolve around the apothercary so mkae sure to protect him. I make sure to arm with a stormshield just in case. Yes I know there is a debate on if he can have one or not, but my belief is that yes he can. Makes sense to me RAW and lore wise.

I would run the third bro as a termy captain in cataphractii armor. He wont have EW, but he will have a 3 up invuln re rolling 1s (cataphractii armor allows for re rolls of invuln saves of 1 on a captain) if you give him a storm shield. After that you could give him the burning blade to make him super killy. Only problem would be he would have a hard time finding friends to run with as he would need termies to deepstrike with or run solo. However if you super rule lawyer it you might be able to take him on a bike. I have a topic in YMDC on this very topic. Its hella rule abuse, but being technically correct is the best king of correct. Thats if I am right in thinking he can. Heres the topic http://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/687944.page

Nah, whole units of t5 bikers with a 3+/3++/3+++ seems too good... You could actually fit 4 of these in with 1850, for a total of 32 wounds of 3+++ (and the one guy with 2+++).

To start a whole other topic,

The way the rule for the formation is worded, it seems like the "being within 12" of an ic for +1 to your fnp roll" doesnt say anything about not stacking..........

I am working on a list with that and its pretty stupid lol. I am not sure if building an entire army around it would work especially when you consider it would limit your bodies on the table, but its a cool idea. When you throw in that the core choice of the armored task force is really cheap and you can get a single dreadnought as your aux choice you can really flesh out your kill squads.

I would read it as not stacking as its a single special rule that applies once to a unit that meets the qualifications. If you have furious charge from two sources you still only get it once after all.

My question is, does the IC benefit from the 12" rule bubble for the added FNP making him have a 2+ FNP? My opponent did not let me play it way and I didn't really argue it because it does make somewhat sense.

I would day yes he does. He is within 12 of an IC at all times even if it is himself. Also why would the leader of the IH have a weaker FNP save than those around him? They become MORE mechanically inclined as they age. They continue to replace their body parts with machinery so it wouldn't make any sense for the older, more mechanical members to have weaker FNP.
