Bases are made with Vallejo sandy paste with spots of sand here and there. Bases are primed black and zenithal highlighted with gray and than white. I also try to pick some spots to be brighter. Atter that I apply GW Funegan orange wash to the whole surface (slightly diluted). When it is dry I add some brown wash (GW Axarax or Valejjo Umber shade) but only to the darker parts.
