Had a busy week but got a bit done. I was;t that happy with the Tortured Souls so I scrapped them and lit them one fire.

I also made up a hero and lit him on fire so he could fly too.

And a few more bases for the abyssal guard and succubi

Also got into sculpting a bit for infinity.

Till next post!

Ancient antipodes! Nice!

You getting some INF painted might be the impetus I need to get 150 points of my own done at last

@Boss Salvage: yeah admittedly, the new ones are pretty bad ass looking while the old ones are more spindly. That said, I don't often get a chance to sculpt fur and I rather enjoyed it. Hopefully they will have the chance to roam out on the battlefield and show the young antipodes how it was old school.

Tried put the new milliput yellow/grey putty. At first I was not used to it, the texture was different and grainier than greenstuff. But after i let it sut for about 20 minutes and used less water it became must more useable. With practice I will get better and this may become my preference over greenstuff. If you have any tips on how touse the milliput please let me know so that I can improve.

I took a small amount and tried for the suckers on the tormented souls and added more tentacles and a few eyes to the well.

Made some more progress on the well and finished the first unit of Tortured Souls. Happy with how this is progressing!

I hope to get back to painting once all the sculpting is finished.

Made some progress on the Well and on a banner bearer. Also finished up the hellhounds.

Well:

Banner Bearer

Lastly, Little bit more on the tortured Souls.

Honestly, I can't wait to get these guys up and painted. But i committed myself to building the army before painting as once i start painting I won't feel like getting back to the putty. I also have some more work on a hero for the list (another flying eye). What still needs to be built is another regiment of Succubi, The flamebearers units, a cavalry hero and the 2nd rank of the Abyssal Guard.

Till Next post.

Dawwww that banner bearer

Curious how the milliput paints up, partially because I'm not a fan of the material

This is probably the most awesome and imaginative thing I’ve seen in a long while. Great concept and execution.

@evildrcheese: i really like how the tortured souls came out too. I was so dissatisfied and with the right amount of encouragement decided to take another swing at then and could not be happier.

@Boss Salvage: from the bits I have gotten that were painted I experienced no problems. It dries "more firm" that GS does but one thing is certain. It is NOT a replacement for GS. Different but sumilar applications and they can be used interchangeably in some cases. I will be using both milliput yellow/grey and GS for future projects.

@Neverlon: thanks for the kind words! I have really been enjoying this and learned alot in this brief project. Hopefully I will have the stomach for another project once this is done. Stay tuned!

Some awful pictures of the group as a whole. I am down to a relatively small amount and then will get to painting. A more detailed army profile to come in the future!

and some Disordered Tokens! Little cut up tentacles.

Awww poor little chopped up tentacles

Grats on almost full build, inspiring speed all told. See you ended up making a cav thingy - guessing that's a mounted hero gribbly?

But yea, really making me wish the humidity would depart so I could get some painting done myself

@EvilDrCheese: Thanks! Is there a unit you prefer the most or one that doesn't seem to fit perfectly?

@Boss Slavage: I am happy with the speed as well, since as soon as august rolls around I will have much less free time. My goal is tonhave the whole army painted and based by Mid-July. For full painted shenanegans in the weeks to follow. That is a Mounted Cav guy and I have him eye pods to represent Firebolts. I have not decided on the Banner bearer one yet. I am thinking one similar to my banner bearer on the big worms. I also need to sculpt an efreet as well but I don't know where that will go yet. I also hope the humidity passes! I have some Skirmish game goodness I was working on in secret.

Finished sculpting on the Succubi units! All I have left are the Flamebearers, 5 Abyssal Guard and an Efreet before I am fully built (Probably completed this weekend!)

I am very excited to have made it this far but I must confess I am considering other projects......

So much win, and kudos for not doing the obvious Japanese school girl model.

Unless I missed it...

I feel like I might need to make an alternate objective for when we throw down ...

I forget, are the tentacles going to Crossroads this year? And/or Keystone?

@Kid_Kyoto: You did not miss the School Girl I opted for a knight instead, big cartoon-y tentacles always run the risk of becoming hentai-riffic if one is not too careful ! Thanks for the kudos. When I get them painted I hope they really pop. Please stay tuned!

@Boss Salvage: The will absolutely be ready in time for Crossroads and Keystone but I have commitments around boh that may preclude me going. I hope to make crossroads for a day at least if possible. Mostly dependent on finding someone to watch my beagle. I really want to debut them at an event but am constrained for the time being. Fingers are crossed for booze-hammer and KoW

Guys! I threw down against Adriel's gribblies last weekend, which are looking more and more complete as the weeks go by. I didn't take enough pics for a batrep, but here are a couple shots to sneakily show off his progress:

Believe it or not, that's Ratkin vs Abyssals

Well I need to get on this.......School has been taxing but I need to get back to the painting table. There has been progress behind the scenes.....Pics maybe tonight. Probably tomorrow.

Started basing this guys and decided on the list. What i have left to do is:
>Paint the sides of the bases
>Highlight the Purple on the tentacles with 1 more layer
>Highlight the Suckers (Teehee!)
>Add flock to the bases
>also need to finish the bones.

Sadly one of the bases won't be finished in time and will be the ugly duckling.....

Till next post!

I love them and all of their tentacled wonderfulness. I love the creepy eyes and the starfishy thing on top of the banner and

there's a lot to love here.

realism is a lie

They look great together all painted!

I'm not sold on the green rims though. I think a more neutral brown would look a lot better.

@Zywus: I get that. The MDF has a soft brown but It wasn't uniform. I decided on the Green for a unifying accent color that some units don't have (Succubi for instance). Thank you for commenting!
