This is the craziest thing I've seen in a while and I love it. I usually find tau pretty loathsome, but this is a great way to make them look uber cool.

Used up my first post for that groaner... Oh well.

Ever since I played 40k, I was trying to shoehorn Skaven into it. I never thought about Tau/ Skaven, was putting them more towards kroot, but you made it work well.

I love the conversions and can't wait to see more. Keep it up please, it's very inspiring.

I love things like this. It really makes you think "what could I do to take something from one game to another without making it look terrible"...or something.

You sir have nailed that perfectly!

Thanks to everyone for the responses. When I started out I wanted to bring as much of fantasy to 40k as I can. I have already started working on another project that's pretty huge, will reveal more when bits get in. I did a little cross over with my thousand sons/tombkings. They are in my gallery. My first love has and probably will be orks. The boar-war boss conversion I did won the large model category here in Tokyo at my local GW. Him and the other bikers all dragged from fantasy. My killer kans to squiggs came from too much fantasy as well.
The paint just got in so I can finish my riptide up and should have him posted within the week.
Again, thanks everyone

Very cool idea. I love how you incorporated warp stones still. Will you be doing a Stormsurge or shall we say Warpsurge?

Hello all,

Thanks to everyone for the responses. Was a real labor of love trying to make a true conversion and not just slapping bits together.
Right now a small part of the rats are on display in the Tokyo games workshop in Harajuku. Here are a few more photos the manager took when I brought them in. I still have to finish the Warp-Tide (ran outa paint ><!) but will try and get those photos soon.

Was in Harajuku two weeks ago! Too bad I couldn't see them up close :( great job and can't wait to see anything more!

Everything about this is just so full of win!

Conversions in general are really difficult to get right, but you've not only nailed that, you have a color palette that really compliments the models, and a great execution!

Exalted!

Thanks! I have my wife to thank for the final choices on the colors. I wanted to at first do white rats with black armor, but she said "everyone does black armor, go bone white instead". While painting the fire warriors, my mind started to wander and thinking about gun lines...who was known for gun lines.....THE RED COATS! Those red and white uniforms snapped everything into place.
