It's the gits who go in, buy 5 and less than 6 hours later are flogging them on ebay or Facebook Trading Groups at an inflated and ridiculous price.
That's most of what the vitriol is against. Really, common sense should limit these limited release purchases but sadly they don't.
So some git goes in, buys 5 $30 models and then flogs them for $60 or $70 a piece on ebay.
It's disrespectful toward the community. It's deliberately depriving other hobbyist's and gamers of the chance to get the miniature unless at an exorbitent price.
It was limit 1 per person if you only bought Centos, one for free at $100, a second one for free at $200 and a third at $300. So the max you could get was 3.
If you wanted $300 worth of GW stuff anyway... that's actually a great bit of business. Buy $300 worth of stuff, walk out three Centos, sell them for ~$180 after fees, and you just got a huge discount. Of course, that's assuming your time isn't worth more than the time it took to do the flip.

Yeah that could be a decent way to do it.
I walked out with two because I picked up the Renegade Box and the Knight Titan book for my roommate and I.
I honestly like Centos' model and rules. While he's not the best by far, being able to get what like 4 uses of the Tactical Doctrine in a GSF with him is pretty cool.

Centos's model is going to represent the Crimson Fists 5th Company Captain for me. I have taken the liberty of writing custom rules up for him and given him the name Brother Captain Cien. I really do like that he is fairly basic. I still might give him a head with some laurels, but that is about it. He looks pretty good as is.

I personally don't understand it....for newer players, its a pretty bland model compared to the blinged out captains currently out. For older players (myself included), we already have the old model in our collection and this one is almost identical (I think the long loincloth is the only new addition).

I think you are missing that there are players that started after the metal model that you have went OOP and before the OTT new super blinged out models. I for instance started at the tail end of 3rd, and never had the old model but liked the look of it. I also like not having every modeled blinged out, depending on the army. Also not ever older player would have the original model.
