That is correct, it is not a Model as defined by the
40k rules, because we know that "...each model will have a unit type..."
And since a imperial Bastion does not have a unit type, it is not a Model as defined by the
40k Rules. (Even though it is a model, as in a miniature version of a larger thing, but
40k defines what a model is in the context of the rules and you need to have a unit type to be considered a model as per the
40k rules).
Or isn't a Unit because it doesn't say the word Model or unit? but says terrain type?
I have to find this amusing, not the reasons against Deepstriking a Bastion but that it's an issue given the new Space Marine powers.
It is only a unit in certain situations, such as being a claimed fortification, but it is still not a Model because it does not have a unit type.
