I love playing my mechanicus a lot more than any space marine army I had, and I even eschew the use of the War Convocation in favor of more tanks and infantry. Only problem is, like guard you need a lot of models to go that rout, and I'm now barely at 1,500pts with only 2cult units. I think all the chatter on the mechanicus is quieting down because we're all waiting for FW or GW to give us more!

the units that are good have been discussed thoroughly, as well as most tactics. Hell, we lost playstyles with the FAQ that came out banning starting in transports. There is still potential yes, but nothing to get really excited over just yet.

I think GW made Mechanicus too odd of an army to get into. The Skitarii and Cult Mechanicus being two seperate books and yet each being incomplete armies that complement each other... It pretty much demands playing a formation that many find questionable which limits the personality a given Mechanicus army has relative to the next.

They need a combined book.

The rumors of a combined book, 2 robots, and a flyer... It really sounds like someone misunderstood the FW releases as GW ones. Since the time frame of those rumors we've seen two robots and there is suppose to be the flyer robot.

Yeah, I am starting to think that too.....

FW will be coming out with some awesome upgrade kits for the Vanguard / Ranger box apparently that I am really excited for, only played a handful of games with them but they are quickly becoming the Army I am enjoying the most.
