Great model, great fluff, poor crunch. If I want rerolls for the DC, a divination libby is almost always better. (And can potentially roll up a 4++ invuln) I have a quadruple libby list where the jump libby for the DC gets divination. It's pretty brutal, even though he is just a prescience monkey most games. It's rerolls for shooting and CC on both your turn and the opponent's turn. That's a lot more rerolls than a chaplain! If he gets challenged, he just hides in the back and lets the rerolling DC murder the opposing unit.

Yea I figured. It seems his Unwieldy axe kind of ruins him since he can get challenged out and killed before he can swing. Divination Libby is not something I had considered.

If you put him in a squad with Dante, he's a lot better, since Dante can suck up the challenges, and with hit and run you can use the chaplain ability over and over. Plus, ID on a 6 helps chop down GMCs. But Astorath is ironically not very good with DC.

I dont suppose anyone knows the ruling for whether you are allowed to take the 30th anniversary imperial marine in these kind of games? because if so i think ill sneak him in somewhere

I have taken the veterans away and managed to fit in a drop fragnaught, This brings me up to 3 drop pods allowing me to drop both assault squads first turn and have the naught drop where needed.
Although this leaves me with my warlord without a babysitter and 20 points to spare.
Any suggestions?
