My standards archangel sanguine wing list has two furioso pods with locator beacons.

In large games, the archangel demi company plus archangel sanguine wing is pretty nice. I really wish they had incorporated the shield of baal formations into the new book.

If nothing else, this thread is worth it for Martel being positive about BA

Would still like to see some lists though, especially if the OP can get the Ravenwing list that he want's to get on par with

BA can win certain matchups with certain units. This was never in debate. But these matchups are more specific and narrow than many on here realize.

Also, a lot more can go wrong for DA than you might think. DA don't have overwhelming ranged firepower, so things like Baal preds have a chance to do something instead of being loled off the table by Eldar or Tau. Any ravenwing squad that jinks doesn't shoot well on its next turn and is denied fancy overwatch. That's fundamentally more limited than "I murder everything from 36" away without trying hard".

I play Ravenwing. As mentioned above, the combination of Storm Shields, power weapons, and jump packs beat plasma, jinking, and hammers every time. I once lost on the first turn to that Ravenguard deep strike assault army. (Yes you should consider playing your red-orange dudes as Ravenguard if you can stomach it.)

Well I need to get in touch with him to ask for a proper list.
But he does run Lion's Blade Detachment in bigger battles (DA version of the Gladius), often with a small combined arms detachment.
I have seen him often field multiple units of bikes usually around 3 or more units of 5 guys and often has a Liberian as part of one of these
Multiple land speeder speeders, or a Land Speeder Vengeance
Sammael
A Nephilim Jetfighter.
Those sorts of units.... But yeah... sorry that's not entirely specific, as I said I need to get in touch with him to get a proper list. :\
He often runs distraction with a lot of these guys while he marches up the field with some sort of plasma for support.
The only alternative to this is drop podding some guys with Melta's or having his Raven Wing run distraction while some Deathwatch Knights run up the board.

So you are suggesting blasting him apart with superior firepower of Baal? Sounds awesome thematically

Or it forces jinks.

Land Speeder Vengeance is hot garbage. is he rolling all those Gets Hot rolls? make it jink and it's useless; if it doesn't jink it's dead.

Play to the mission and leverage mobility. You can often ignore units that don't score like the Nephilim or avoid slow units like Deathwing Knights.

Lion's Blade Battle Company with its full BS Overwatch is a much harder counter to Blood Angels than Ravenwing. Beating Ravenwing's mobility is tactically challenging but Blood Angels have to tools to do it.

One of my best friends has been playing DA since the Angels of Death codex. Death company CAN be an answer to them, but only if you have another unit (like scouts) that can eat overwatch for you. Other than that, everything that's been mentioned here is pretty spot on.

Haha yeah, but the dice gods favor him so its not problematic as you might think

Theres been a few good suggestions so far, so I have a bit to think about before i purchase.
I'm thinking (multiple) Baal Predators to force jinks,
rhinos with Assault squads (without packs) to move quickly and to try and tie them up
Drop pods with Death company, perhaps a close combat dreadnought.
Possibly a storm Raven with Tactical s or Assault Terminators with Storm Shields
Scouts with Snipers
..... Maybe a land Raider to transport the Terminators

This is not a proper list really but as a Ravenwing player, does any of this sound at least.... confrontational to your victory plans?

Rhinos with Assault Squads, oh the noes!

That does not sound scary. At all.

Haha they arnt supposed to be, they are supposed to be the bullet sponges till the Death Company can get there. What would you do differently?

The issue with that is that they can be safely ignored. Rhinos aren't scary, and Assault Marines aren't scary. Whatever you charge will Hit And Run away, so they don't even tarpit well.

Tac squads in Rhinos with heavy flamers inside are actually more dangerous to DA.
