If the Custodes don't utterly annihilate what they're charging, you're going on want them to stay for another turn to be safe from their shooting phase. That's not entirely a bad thing.

Inability to Sweeping Advance means you will definitely not be locked in combat when your inability to use it applies. That implies the opposition has lost, then fled from the combat.

This is an actual rule in the actual rulebook. Quit whining about how you can imagine someone's army touching you in a bad place and play by the actual rules.
