I agree entirely with Walnuts on this, they're a great support weapon for a unit that is already effective (e.g. dual
CCW Dreadnoughts, Rhinos, Land Speeders) but as a main source of firepower they just don't really stack up all too well.
I own a 10 man Assault Cannon squad, and they're fun to play but just not too effective against equally other equally priced units.
Thought that may be it.
I ran the idea past my mate who I play against often...he seemed to think assault cannon spam is 100% cheese. Legit could not see the downsides of it. So I am going to playtest the gak out of a list with assault cannons everywhere just to see what happens. Definitely rate them in dual
CCW contemptors. And I think the predators with all fhe assault cannons would be fun. Not convinced troops without relentless can make the most of them though.
