You roll each Assault Cannon separately. So time consumption rolling dice for a 10 man squad could be considered another downside.

I agree entirely with Walnuts on this, they're a great support weapon for a unit that is already effective (e.g. dual CCW Dreadnoughts, Rhinos, Land Speeders) but as a main source of firepower they just don't really stack up all too well.

I own a 10 man Assault Cannon squad, and they're fun to play but just not too effective against equally other equally priced units.

Thought that may be it.
I ran the idea past my mate who I play against often...he seemed to think assault cannon spam is 100% cheese. Legit could not see the downsides of it. So I am going to playtest the gak out of a list with assault cannons everywhere just to see what happens. Definitely rate them in dual CCW contemptors. And I think the predators with all fhe assault cannons would be fun. Not convinced troops without relentless can make the most of them though.

Rhino's with Assault Cannons would be pretty good. Especially for only 10 points.

Assault Cannons on infantry that can't move and shoot them effectively would not be a good choice.
