Also if there's any chance at all of seeing new models/rules for Black Legion units, I want to see these guys or actual models for the bringers of despair!
Spoiler:

This is Abbadon's personal bodyguard. That pic is from a story in an old codex that tells the story of an assassin squad being briefed on who they are. One is Tzeetch, one is Slaanesh, one is Khorne, one is Nurgle.

So it's true then that we are getting a cannoness figure for January. It will be two parts and used as base decoration of A-Bad-one as he cuts down a Battle sisters sancturary to use their bodies as a sacrifice to begin the next black crusade. Also marks the return of Mat Ward writing stories for chaos.

I guess I should add an edit mark lol. I was referring to the supposed white dwarf picture. I added the chosen later as models I would like to see modeled/rules for. It could be a combo pack like the new sorcerers. They could be their black legion equivalent, or the cabal.
Although really I'm just looking for an excuse to get them modelled lol. Ever since I saw that picture I couldn't forget it.

One of Adrian Smith's most evocative pieces of Chaos artwork. From the magnificent 3.5th Codex. I've wanted them modeled as well for some time.

That's cool. I never knew that. Thanks for sharing the link

I agree. That piece is one of my favorites from 40k.

Always pronounced it A-bad-done.

Anyway, maybe a plastic A-bad-done will bring some things Chaos players actually needs, like plastic Havocs, a plastic Oblit/Mutilator kit, and maybe even new a Chaos Marine kit. Wouldn't that be grand.

Obliterator and especially Havocs are despa4ately needed in plastic, but both of those are more iconic for Iron Warriors than Black Legion.

My guess/wish for kits that come with abbadon would be a set of 5 chosen with tons of weapon options like the sternguard kit, new terminators with full load outs and maybe an option to make say a Justaran to lead them, and then a clampack lord in power armor.

Terminators and Chosen are way more needed than either of those. We currently don't even have a chosen kit except for those in dark vengeance and those have a fixed loadout. I haven't bought terminator's since third edition with the exception of some justaerin from forgeworld, but it is my understanding that you can't even build the basic loadout with the current kit. And both fit the Black Legion well.

You can build Chosen out of regular Marines. Terminators have a plastic kit. The other two have neither. They need it far, far more.

Resin is still better than no kit at all, kitbashing isn't an excuse for that. Though I admit I may have jumped the gun on havocs. I thought they were plastic at least.

You can build Sternguard and Vanguard out of regular SM too but god help us if GW haven't produced....let's count.

Metal Veterans in 4th ed. Check.
Redone metal Veterans toward the end of 4th ed. Check.
Sternguard conversion kit in 5th ed.
Sternguard and Vanguard metals in 5th ed. Check.
Plastic Sternguard and Vanguard in 7th ed. Check.

Now let's count 'Chosen' that GW have made.

3rd ed. Crickets.
4th ed.? Crickets.
5th ed.? Crickets.
6th ed. Finally, plastic fixed loadout only available in Boxed game. Oh. Okay.
7th ed. Same plastics, same boxed game, new rulebook.

I mean, let's be honest, the whole Chaos range needs an overhaul for the most part. If they want to keep a baroque ancient armour with some twisting aesthetics- ok, that makes...uh...Raptors/Warp Talons our base then?

Now only a CSM player.

None of that really means anything. GW makes more Marine kits because Marines are their bread and butter. Of course they're going to keep releasing new things for them.

Chosen don't need a kit. They don't. Havocs and Oblits are either still hybrid kits, which have all but vanished from GW (and good riddance!), or all metal/resin. They need to be updated.

I would like to see new kits for oblits and mutilators but only if they changed their look completely. I just get behind how ridiculous I think they look.

I forsee anew Havoc/Dual kit and Mutilator/Oblit Dual kit whenever the new release finally comes around.

Obliterators and Mutilators are almost certainly going to be a kit similar to the Centurion kit. Which is a shame since it means they will cost an arm and a leg.

Honestly, I think if GW phased out Resin by gradually releasing new kits alongside newer releases, it would be a great thing. Though it seems like it would take forever to accomplish.

what are the chance that this is actually a real wd cover and not a hoax?

I have a bit of insight about the magazine, and this info comes from 3 months ago when i was discussing with my local redshirt about the new WD.

He pretty much told me that the Spanish community are quite involved in keeping the game up to date even with a huge repository of Translated articles just for the shake of players.

He also told me that by % Spain area it's one of the most prolific buyers of GW products (something related about trade volume vs population or similar) and since there was a long standing group since the WD days of Old most of the stores was pushing together in order to convince GW an spanish WD it's profitable and there is market for it.

Mind you this was lik 3 months ago, so this teaser may be intended for the spanish players to build some hype and buy the magazine, so at least the spanish language magazine it's not a hoax.

About the picture behind it, well no clue it can honestly be the real one for January and thus somewhat Chaos related (i do believe it's Abby too) or just a random picture used to prepare the announcement cover.

P.S: in short there is a high chance for upcoming spanish WD (i know they at least asked a local translator to make up a 1st version to check it up), but can't asure that's the right cover or just a mock up promo.

I have to agree Chosen don't need a kit as much as Oblits do. Given the 30K plastic we're getting now even Havocs might not need a kit. GW could just put out a 30K heavy weapon upgrade sprue. After all, getting more 30K kits is more likely than the whole Chaos line up getting re-done.

I just hope the Havoc kit isn't as fething expensive as the stupid new Dev kit.
