If you want to do Ultramarines, do Ultramarines.

If anything, do them better or different than others, and that'll make you stand out.

So they are finished. My poor lighting continues to plague me, but most of the detail stands out.

They look a tad shiny, so I might hit them one more time with a dull coat.

Great as always, the only thing I see shining is the transfer.

Really nice work, as always! May I ask what colors you used for the hair? I would like to borrow/steal that technique for some of the HH marines I have going if you don't mind sharing.

Very tidy work indeed: you have achieved very crisp, smooth colours. They could almost have come out of the Marine codex!

Thanks, about half Averland Sunset and half Flayed One Flesh for the main color, wash Agrax, and then more like 75% Flayed One Flesh, or maybe more with a small amount of Averland for the edging.

So, started a bike chaplain. I honestly hate this old ass model, but it is better than trying to scratch build a decent chaplain.

I quite like the old guy. He's been my chaplain on a bike for a very long time. Did you get him in the recent made to order sale, or knock some serious dust off him?

Snagged him at a convention actually.

He doesn't look too bad, though I prefer the newer model. When it comes to models like this, I'd just kitbash 'em. Get a SM biker single pack, and do some knife-work on the chaplain model, get whatever weapons you want, and BOOM, job done. But he looks to be a cool project, have fun!

Hey at least you get a chaplain on a bike! I ordered one from the recent "made to order" promo and it turns out Deathwatch can't actually put theirs on bikes.

Not so sure about this one. I can't say what it is but something just feels... off.

(Still a good model, but maybe not as good as the previous ones. Like I said, I don't know why.)

Looks good. Where did you get the book hanging off the back? When looking to make my bike lib, I couldn’t find any the right scale I liked.

For some reason it seems off to have a helmet on a librarian. Might just be my personal collection biasing me. I also use that bit on the backpack as an iron halo to denote captains. Those reasons might be why he doesn’t scream “librarian” to me. Even though I think I used most of the same parts when building mine.

I don’t know if it’s the palette or the lighting, but he seems a lot more drab then the other guys.

Don’t get me wrong, I think he’s quite cool. Just a few little things about him do feel off. Could be some sort of passive psychic aura?

Thanks, the usual garbage lighting likely doesn't help, but otherwise he is painted identically.

The helm was supposed to make him look a bit more like a Grey Knight, and he has a psychic hood as his torso. That being said I am trying to make all 3 of them look distinct, if nothing else but to help my opponent identify them better so I don't have to repeat who has what psychic powers every two seconds.

The book along with the robed legs were a nice donation from a SA forum member. I don't know where he get them.

The robed legs I recognize from my own bike librarian conversion. They come from the old ravenwing accessory sprue.

I'll agree here. The model itself is excellent, and I love it, but I didn't even know it was a libby until someone said it. The psychic hood is kind of overshadowed by his helmet. All in all a beautiful piece, just perhaps the head choice could have been better.

So, finished some scouts. Only 4 weeks until Adepticon and I am sweating heavy...need to finish:
1 Biker Librarian
3 Terminators
2 Razorback Turrets
1 Multi-Melta
1 Display Board

My dreadnaught even received a new Twin-Linked Heavy Flamer for Zone Mortalis.

A) Dreadnoughts are cool, and that dreadnought is really cool.
B) Is that the inferno cannon from forge world?
C) Can they not be used as two separate heavy flamers?

Yeah, it is an Inferno Cannon, and it is there to represent the twin-linked heavy flamer, since I don't think any such Dreadnaught weapon is available on the GW line. They love making weapon options in the rules that they don't make models for.

And with this final guy and few odds and ends I conclude my Adepticon championship list.

I am now down to my final few models and a display board. 3 Terminators and 2 teleport homers.
