Yeah ive seen models of sanguinary priests with and without blood chalices was just curious if its a given or not? Granted the choice of a 2nd weapon is not choosen. Sorry for the noobie questions.

The sanguinary priest will always give the bubble where or not he is /modeled/ with it. I am not sure if there is a way to switch out the blood chalice, if you could switch the blood chalice out for something then the benefit would cease to exist.

Thank you very much. Its been a question ive been trying to figure out though looking though reading posts and googleing and just couldnt come up with a definitive answer.

Now for my final quesion about the HQ slot. I see the big pros of sanguinary priests for small pt list and librarians in groups in larger lists , but as for chaplains and captains was just wondering why they are not run very much from what it seems like to me? (Fully understand the pros to the DC chaplains in the DC formation and its pros.)

So, chaplains I find aren't too bad, but they aren't run because they are a force modifier, meaning they help out your force more than killing things. But sanguinary priests are better modifiers than they are, and captains are better killers.

The reason captains aren't taken is partially because dante exists, but mainly because they cost a lot to make very effective, and most often I find that boys over toys is very important in 40k.

No you have that right. Making a good captain is a point sink, and the equivalent cost in dudes is usually better.

I agree but then remember that the sanguinary priest doesn't have any invulnerable save besides the 3+ from power armour. You might want to either buy him a bike so that he gets more thoughness or to field him with a JP in a sanguinary guard squad.

For sanguinary priests, since blood chalices are relics, any many were shattered in the days of the heresy, it's not possible for every priest to carry their own chalice.
As a result, instead every narthecium has embedded in it a shard of a shattered blood chalice.
A bit like how every Crux Terminatus has a shard of The Emperors armour in it.
That's the fluff reason that you don't need a chalice to be WYSIWYG, in games purposes if they have it in their wargear, and you don't replace/lose it in making the list, how it's modellee has no effect on what it has. As long as it's clear its a S.Priest with whatever weapons, you're WYSIWYG.
I use Forgeworlds Mk.IV priest for my Priest, Mk.IV armour is just so sexy and those models are awesome.

That was what our 5th ed codex said at least, I don't recall seeing it in 6th ed (current) one though.

The priest affects their unit only.

How well do assult terminators over reg terminator squads, and are they worth even taken in a small pt list? I mean i see they can be worth it in a larger list via there pt cost but just wasnt sure of point cost to worth in a small pt list?

I basically don't ever use terminators of any kind. They are too overcosted, especially for BA.

For this being my 1st list and just useing what i had of it i got pretty luck in its 1st go against a friends IG. Thank you all for the help and with all the questions ive asked. Currently waiting on a pod and a razorback/rhino to come in to paint up. But not sure what i should take next to tune up this list 1st. If any other sugestions for what i should buy please let me know what would be a good next purchase. Also thank you all for all the feedback and the help

Assault Terminators are just regular Terminators with either a TH/SS or two Lightning Claws as opposed to the power fist and ranged weapon. So you'd need terminator armour to make those WYSIWYG. There are 3 different versions of Terminator armour currently though, although as far as I'm aware only the 'modern' Terminator armour kit comes with TH/SS, so buying a box of those will be the easiest.
