I voted for Russ, his backwards mentality and harshness at being proven wrong will make him difficult to work with in the 41st millennium. His hatred of psychic powers apart from the not-at-all-related-rune-priests mean conflict other all the other re-initiated Librarian forces would happen. He easily burned Prospero so he would just as well burn whole chapters and worlds for the use of Librarians in the name of the Emperor. Russ comes across as a stupid savage in my opinion and many a world would admit to cowering to his temper and ruthless marines rather than purely worshipping as a Primarch-Demi God for fear of reprisals. Also dumb savage Russ would be after all those Oath breakers still on his mind 10,000 years later. No one can follow orders from someone as rigid as Guilliman when you still have a list of worlds, people and space marines on your mind that need purging (Whether they still exist, have already faced judgement or are back in the imperial fold)!

except they're not grown in tubes. or if they are they're still made from people like space Marines regularily. given the referances in dark Imperium, those "tubes" where proably stasis vaults

I figure the primarchs will be released when their respective primaris units are ready. Big bikes for sale? Welcome back Jaghatai! Embiggened jump pack dudes on the market? Wassup Corax!
I don't know why they would bother to make the wolves bigger just so they can be ridden by even bigger marines, but by god, when they figure out how to do it Russ will be there to lead the charge!

Yeah and Al Gore just said that god commanded him to combat "global warming" too.
Doesn't make the "warming" real or the communication a fact.
What evidence do we have besides Girlyman's word that this did in fact happen?
Seems like a likely Eldar trick to me...

an eldar trick? except there weren't eldar around at the time. and Gulliman's internal monologue in Dark Imperium referances his communication with the Emperor. sure it's possiable that there was a Psyker behind the curtain, but given he was clearly capable of fooling a Primarch that makes it irrelevant if so

I assumed his comment was an OOC one given his referance to Al Gore and climate change denial.

I think having a loyalist go traitor would be a HORRIABLE mistake on GW's part. Imagine if you're told the army you've been collecting, painting and building for the past 15 years was now "chaos Marines" even if they got their own distinct rules it'd proably go over terriably.

whose "They" IIRC someone said that rumor wise, but it could very well be a case of absolutely misinterpreting what they said. Kinda like how a rumor person while back stated that the Seige of Terra in the Horus Heresy books is gonna be a little differant from how it's generally been reported in the past (no suprise there) and people ran around screaming "THEY'RE RETCONING EVERYTHING! HORUS IS REALLY ALIVE AND SANGUINIS IS SECRETLY ALIVE AND A CHAOS DEAMON!"

I can't say I'm surprised the Lion is running away with it!
When I made the OP, I didn't know a hundred years had elapsed since their deployment. Corax would probably not rebel from the get-go, but enough for me to think the Lion is the most likely to rebel now. I don't think Corax is gonna be very happy, and I think his relationship with Cawl would be great to read about!

My vote was for The Lion, only because every one knows he already is tainted by chaos, thus the reason he destroyed his homeworld. .... I kid I kid, calm down all you "we're better than all the rest cause we have the designator of 1" DA. I really voted for the Lion cause of his arrogance and seeming unwillingness to assist others and often was fighting the other Primarchs.

The thing is you don't have to become a chaos marine to be a traitor. Vandire was a traitor and he was just insane. People can revolt against a system they see as morally corrupt or oppressive in the fluff without in being a warp spawned conspiracy. Now I get how after the fact the participating rebels might become more susceptible to chaos taint, but I can see the Lion raising a rebellion against Gulliman or leaving to take control of the dark Imperium because he thinks it's the right thing to do, rather than because he has become corrupted by Chaos and is putting spikes on his armor.

Johnson is the most likely to be a problem though not on the level of actually rebelling.
Russ does'nt have the ambition to rule.
Give him enemies to kill and he is content he is also a lot smarter then lets on.
Corax Vulkan,Jaghatai would accept Roboute as regent provided that he takes a hands of approach.
Johnson would try to politically manouvre himself into the regent position but not openly rebel againsst roboute.

The Lion will take over the Dark Imperium and Guilliman will not approve. Both will stay loyal to the emperor and both Imperium will coexist while fighting amongst themselve here and then but ultimately they will help each other to defeat greater threat.

IIRC it was more that some Primarchs will be with factions and groups other than there expected chapters or legions. That could mean crossing the loyalist/traitor divide, or for the loyalists it could be a different group within the Imperium. For example Dorn with the Talons, or Ferrus with the LOTD.

Ancient Space Wolves Venerable Dreadnought
|
Leman Russ doesn't have the ambition - Russ acknowledged Guilliman as the better tactitian and the better statesman. Guiliman also took the heads off the High Lords that Grimnar wanted dead. Russ would have to deal with the change in the Space Wolves before he did anything - the Space Wolves under Russ were monsters - Grimnar's Space Wolves are heroes.
Nor does he have the man-power.
The Space Wolves number between six and eight hundred if you include both Marines and Wulfen.
Add in two thousand Primaris Marines and an extra hundred assuming Russ' Shield Brothers have all survived their adventures.
Three thousand marines in a chapter that has earned the hatred of as many allies as enemies and a Primarch.
Girlyman would laugh that off.
Corax is a possibility, he does the shadow thing rather well but his true power lies in he shadows. The political arena is shady but he'd be about as thrilled with dealing in politics as Russ would be.
Dorn...I'd love to write him off as too boring, too set in his ways to upend everything.
But.
Dorn was known for his stubborn determination, maybe that was a mistake, maybe Dorn was truly patient and just mistaken for stubborn?
I like to think The Lion is too obvious.
A capable general, a capable statesman, he holds grudges and acts like a bratty child, he has the numbers in the Dark Angels and their successors.
Too obvious in my opinion plus the Dark Angels and their successors make enemies of their allies almost as quickly as the Space Wolves.
But we're talking GW...
Jaghatai Khan How many people knew Horus and Magnus were Khan's favourite brothers? He was supposed to help the Alpha Legion destroy the Space Wolves but decided not to, he also decided not to help the Wolves either and left them to their fate.
He and Russ never got along for...reasons.
Guilliman left him out of the "Dauntless Few" groupies.
Corax and Johnson never liked anyone.
Dorn is boring.
