I believe the formula would be close to:

m >= n+2

with:
n == number of non SM releases
m == number of SM releases

You would think since marines sell well regardless, they would try and make other armies popular so they could have 2 cash cows

I just want my gosh darn Primaris Repulsors and Redemptors before summer is over. A Primaris codex would be nice, with all the rules and some nice chapter specific rules maybe.

For non-Primaris related stuff I just want them to release plastic Sisters of Battle already. I don't even play them, but I know a lot of people that do, and I want them to get some proper models before they go crazy. Some already have though.

That is the leaked schedule.

Better list construction rules. Really that's my only true gripe about the edition that persists. I would like to see guardians get a range boost so they could actually be fielded.

I feel some things are very powerful (quantum shielding; super heavy models; global re-rolls from HQ units; fliers; conscripts) but I need to play more games to form a better opinion of whether they might be busted.

Army building seems the thing that most everyone thinks is right about this edition.

1) Plastic for the long-abandoned [finecast] eldar units

2) Something new. Yet more marines is already old. Let the Hrud emerge from the dark places or the hyper-violent Barghesi come howling out of their cordoned off area of space. Whatever, something to shake up the same, old same old.

3) Rulewise, standing on the lack of <whatever> tactics. I like the abandonment of senseless benefits to the playstyle you were going to pursue anyway masquerading as 'character.'

4) Sisters, I guess. I've kinda given up after decades of 'maybe next year'

5) flesh out the mini-factions a bit more. Just a smidge. They've got a lot more potential than even-more-marine marines.

This is a very good list in most every case unlikely.

Week 45: major SW release

Week 57: Forgeworld makes a SM release
Week 65: major Eldar release

etc.

Funny. But you forgot the novel about the space marine hard countering all of them at the same time.

I hope Sisters of Battle get some plastics finally after more than two decades, and on top of that, I hope we get some actual new units instead of the same bland rehashes of the same units we've had since 2nd edition.

I don't get that feeling at all. The army building rules make just about any unbound list of yesteryear battleforged with little to no penalty. i.e. people talking about the flier spam at the most recent big tournament.

I'm really hoping we see some plastic Imperial Guard releases. Many of the regiments are nearly 20+ years old. Additionally, now that regiment keywords are a thing & restrictive it only makes sense that each regiment would get a hero. Right now Cadians have 2-3 heroes, Catachans have 2-3 heroes, everyone else has nothing. Meaning in tournaments you will see every IG list pretending to be either Cadian or Catachan.

Power sword and storm shield celestian bodyguards would be nice too. As would a unique non-forgeworld transport.

I think Sisters of Battle could go better with Spears and Shields, like that Karamazov pic. 40k is laking a Spear+Shield combo. Only Asterion Moloc is equiped like that, and is a shame, not even Custodes:

Dakka does have White Knights and is also rather infamous for it's Black Knights. A new edition brings out the passionate and not all of them are good at expressing themselves in written form. There have been plenty of hysterical responses from both sides so far. So we descend into pointless bickering with neither side listening to each other. So posting here becomes more masturbation than conversation.

I miss that gothic aesthetic, art like that is what got me into 40k...not the stuff we seem to get now. If they released sisters that looked like that i'd be sold on them for sure though.

Why, when you can play as the best and most loyal regiment in the entire Imperium?
Spoiler:

I have spent way too much money on this army, and I'm still looking to spent like €1000 more within the next few years.

But yeah, they need some updating. Having to buy Basilisks from the webstore is a pain, and the basic infantry has been in need of a resculpt for ages.

DKoK are awesome & I can see why people would be interested in playing them but they aren't for me. Part of the reason I think people are attracted to guard is that they are normal men up against super mutant horrors armed with little more than a flashlight & bravery. DKoK while human, kind of aren't human. They are VAT grown beings without names only numbers who's sole existence is to martyr themselves. Many other guard regiments are real people conscripted from real lives with family/jobs etc. They have everything to lose & do so in protection of the Imperium. So there is that.

Also if you are rolling say a DKoK army, you cannot use Harker or Pask etc unless you pretend your DKoK army is Catachan or Cadian. Harker is insane at his low cost & reroll aura. Most guard lists will want him, but that means you have to pretend you are Catachan due to the way regiment keywords work. It would be nice if there were heroes for each regiment, creating diversity amongst the guard.

Yup, compared to all the other stuff we have today... i call them indeed ugly... i mean the faces of theese metal figures are really bad.
Now if you take a look at the new Celestine release or even on the unofficial Grishnak models https://www.spikeybits.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/05/47379eb92c30529cda3a18642ceee057.jpg
Then yeah.. sorry, theese 2nd edition metal sisters are really ugly and expensive! :/
I and expecially my wife do not want em.

It's easy if you buy FFG's 15k splatbooks with reprinted rules and the entire dark mechanicum token set. Anyone can read it with those handy game supplements. FFG always making it so easy to play.

I want no releases.

Codex creep doesn't happen when there's no codecies.

"'players must agree how they are going to select their armies, and if any restrictions apply to the number and type of models they can use."

This is an actual rule in the actual rulebook. Quit whining about how you can imagine someone's army touching you in a bad place and play by the actual rules.
