Subject: 2K 8th ITC Battle - The Walking Dread Space Wolves vs Imperial Knights

Any thoughts or suggestions?
I would recommend a mix between Rifleman dreads and Mortis HB Dreads (probably a 3 Rifleman to 1 HB Dread ratio). IMO, the Rifleman dread is the better TAC dread. Mortis Dreads are good against infantry but not so much as more elite units, vehicles or other multi-wound units.
The Falchion is good but keep in mind that the ITC just had a vote recently with regards to Super-heavies. If you plan to play in ITC tournaments, the Falchion would be illegal to bring (nothing over PL31).
Also, you might want to consider a screening unit or counter-assault unit for certain armies that can charge on Turn 1. For me, I have the CC-dreads to protect my shooty dreads from those types of armies.
Yeah the list still runs the 4 CC Dreads in addition to everything else. Haven't heard about the ITC superheavy ruling but I know it wont fly in my area. Hmm. Rifle dreads are 27 points more then Mortis HBs. If I where to keep Autocannon dreads would only be able to run 3. Mitgated somewhat by the addition of 4 more lascannons on the Falchion over the Shadowsword for big stuff but the Falchion has only 1 Twin HB to the Shadowsword's 5. Nice thing about dread is it really easy to swap their weapons so I can test it multiple ways.
One thing (actually 2 things) I like about the Falchion is 1) it is BS3+ compared to BS4+ on the Shadowsword and 2) Power of the Machine Spirit.
The PL Limit was voted on in the ITC for the BAO, but there's a very high chance that it will carry over as a permanent ITC ruling. Of course if you guys don't play by ITC rules or attend any tournament that adhere strictly to ITC, then it isn't an issue.
BTW, I'd go with more shooting than assault. Assuming you are running 8 dreads, I'd go 3 CC and 5 dakka.

While I'm picking your brain would like your thoughts on Leviathan dreads. Going Double grav-flux for 275 total seems good (The 18" range kinda sucks though) as it can do pretty good damage vs both Hordes and Vehicles. Was thinking about 3 of them over the Falchion or Shadowsword.

The Leviathan is highly specialized to take on other elite units. IMO he can't really replace a Falchion/Shadowsword because he just does not have the range. He is in danger of getting assaulted every time he moves up to shoot and thus, losing a turn of shooting as he has to retreat. If you decide to run him, don't run more than 2. You should play-test him first (proxy if you have to) to see how you like them.
Ok any other Suggestions for superheavies? I know you chose the Shadowsword for being under the PL limit but disregarding that I was also thinking about the ACASTUS KNIGHT
PORPHYRION.

You talking about this guy?

Lol. Sorry, couldn't resist the plug-in. This model was painted by FLG (their banner in my signature) for my friend and fellow teammate, iNcontrol.
Yeah, the Porphyrion is a beast indeed. He's got some scary firepower when dealing with other Titans. However, his horde-control capability is poor and he's almost 800-pts!!!
If you're in a battle with the big dudes, I'd consider taking him. Otherwise, at 2K, I'd stick with the Shadowsword or Falchion.
