Razorbacks with twin lascannons are the new predators. Twin lascannon predator is 140 pts. Twin lascannon razorback is 115 pts. Unless you plan to use that killshot stratagem, which doesnt work with razorbacks.

You are basically always better off taking the predator auto cannon over the twin las. Preds are pretty mediocre but with the chronus upgrade I think it's worth it. Fills HQ requirement and you get BS2+.

Compare a Razorback with twin assault cannon and a Baal Predator with twin assault cannon and two heavy bolters.
That's 12 vs. 18 shots or 100 pts vs. 160 pts.
Three Razorbacks and two Baal Predators are almost on par.

You can have three razorbacks for 300 pts with 36 shots (if we assume that asscan and HB shots are roughly equal in value) and 30 wounds.

Or you can have two baal predators for 320 pts with 36 shots and 22 wounds. They also get an almost pointless special rule related to advancing.

Apart from being easier to bubblewrap I don't think there's any reason to bring baals from a competitive POV.

The most obvious factor is that dedicated transports do not confer slots to generate command points. I agree with you though - Baal preds suck.

Some thoughts:

- For a mere 2 points I believe, you add the Storm Bolter on the Razorback with the Twin Assault Cannon: Same range and moar dakka.
- Yep, a shoot at anything Predator is with the main gun and the lascannon sponsons.
- Repulsor I am looking hard at, if I do not have enough Razorbacks, I am assuming I need to save my Heavy slots, plus machine spirit is a big help for firing on the move.

I find a bit of a nod of the head of what to focus on is if you are packing any lascannons/missiles with squads.
Anyone being Cheesy and throwing Guiliman in the mix?

I don't think Lascannon Predators are actively terrible.

With all the toys it's 198 points, vs. a Leman Russ Tank Commander clocking in at 260 and 2 Lascannon Razorbacks coming it at 246.

I do think other Predator varieties, Vindicators, and Whirlwinds. One thing to keep in mind with taking Razorbacks is that you're adding a lot of drops to your army, which isn't really a good thing.

Guardsmen, hear me! Cadia may lie in ruin, but her proud people do not! For each brother and sister who gave their lives to Him as martyrs, we will reap a vengeance fiftyfold! Cadia may be no more, but will never be forgotten; our foes shall tremble in fear at the name, for their doom shall come from the barrels of Cadian guns, fired by Cadian hands! Forward, for vengeance and retribution, in His name and the names of our fallen comrades!
