I backed for a super-advanced-mega-early bird special but it's basically just a wish at this point.

Price looks about what I'd expect (particularly if there are unlocks planned).

A normal neoprene mat is probably 65-80 dollarbucks + terrain bits. Definitely don't see much of a savings, but the full table is about what I'd expect if purchased separately. Personally there's nothing here to attract me, but I'm always keeping my eye out for more terrain.

In all honesty, I jumped on it because I was able to grab an extreme early bird pledge, but if all the stretch goals are just add-ons, and not extra terrain, I'll may drop my pledge.

Ah damn, I do not like early bird stuff, I always feel cheated... or if grabbing one, I cheat another guy.

Anyway, these rewards are more or less uninteresting to me.
IMO we need smaller pledge Levels. And not just as add-ons!
I already got some Tau Ceti Terrain, so why get it all again plus a gaming mat that I do not like?

Well, neither the Euro nor the Zloty use a dollar sign, so it's probably safe to bet those are wrong.

Generally speaking, unless you're dealing specifically with an Australian or Canadian entity, random prices marked with "$" are assumed to be USD.

Yeah pretty much the same feeling. The terrain isn't badly priced though but the issue is they bundle it with the playmat. So you either take the package deal with the playmat or go the $1 route and add-ons. There isn't something in between. There is playmat and playmat + terrain bundle but no just terrain bundle by itself.

I'm in for at least a $1 to at least watch it and might end up doing add-ons but I'm just not interested in the playmats.

I asked on their FAQ & their reply confirmed USD. It takes 2 seconds for companies to add this info as so many currencies use the $ sign, there's no Euro symbol on a standard qwerty keyboard & I have no idea what options are available on the KS project builder, I just like to be 100% sure before inputting a multi-hundred figure.

Oddly enough I'm most interested in the TauCeti town square with planters. The terrain looks nice, but most of it is in the 'LOS Blocking' category rather than something that units can interact with/run over/run through (ruins are ok, but you suffer the perils of wobbly model syndrome). It'll be interesting to see where this one goes.

Ah, even having looked at the page I didn't realize it was bundled with a mat - that explains the price.

I'd definitely like to see an option to get the terrain without a mat, as the price point had me closing the campaign without being very tempted as it was...

Nice to see they swapped the Hive set to be the first unlock. It’s what I’m really backing for, and apparently I’m not the only one. I’d think that change alone will bring more backers in

Just go to the MicroArts store. The mats aside, it's mostly old stuff.

I backed it. That's good price for Micro Art Studios super high quality terrain, and I don't own those sets.

But, I am a firm believer in spending 50% of one's hobby budget on terrain to avoid "milk cartons, biscuit packagings and sticky cat chow cans", hah!

...and yes making your own terrain certainly is cheaper just like mixing your own acrylic paints and pouring your own tin flats. And the quality of the end result certainly shows LOL

The problem with cowtowing to bitching is that most of the bitching comes from people who will never back the project anyway; the "it's a shame that xyz, because I would have backed it" crowd.

True, but in this case I think it's a bit more understandable, as most of it seems available now for like, 10% more than the KS prices (which deliver in 8+ months), and shipping will eat up any KS discount. The only new things I saw were the ruins and maybe the mats? Nice stuff to be sure though.

There's no problem with reconfiguring a campaign that wasn't getting a good reception - they only had 74 backers after two days, and the market for great wargaming terrain is huge! With their track record in the industry, I think they can do much better. Looking forward to the relaunch

Definitely!

Seems less "kowtow" and more "Realistic reassessment".

Looking forward to the new campaign and offerings.
