I feel like I've seen Hrud / Space Skaven done using Skitarii arms? Likely due to the look of the weapons as well as the fudge-ability of the sleeves combined with Skaven bodies. I dig that you're going for a more bare arms look, extra crittery.
And in general your vermin are looking a step above what I've seen so far, with the added sculpting work going well beyond the kitbashing I'm used to. Bravo

Yeah chalk another one up for Skitarii/Ad Mech arms. You can be less concerned about the number of fingers on hands when they've chopped them off and replaced them with bionics anyway
Rangers/Vanguard for gun-arms and Ruststalkers for CC work.
There's also no reason you can't use Skaven shields with them. I've been using Ungor shields for my nordic raven-themed Iron Sleet Invitational dudes and they lend a really nice 'aesthetic of the pathetic', low-rent techno-barbarian scavenger feel to them.
Just the idea that your dudes are going up against the horrors of the universe wielding a wooden shield, a regular sword and if they're lucky a pistol or something is a very INQ28-feeling concept

I think the reason the skaven shield is a problem is because it is built into the body, so it would be kinda hard to have them hold a rifle in a sensible manner.

Do stormvermin torsos have bonded arms or are they a better bet?

Careful, they're armed!
Dont worry they will be getting armour and pouldrons so the arms will be bulked out considerably, i did want to start with a fairly skinny arm so that the final up-armored version is still slim and fits the human sized rodent idea
C&C welcome
Cheers
BLACKHAND Automatically Appended Next Post: @Ynneadwraith - sorry missed your question, and yeah they do have seperate arms and are of course a bit heavier armoured. I cant beleivei forgot about stormvermin! Yes they would be a better bet for converting to 40k, having a few of them around would have made this conversion a lot easier but its been years since i sold off my skaven, these are just built from leftovers.
Automatically Appended Next Post: @boss salvage - cheers! I actually have a box of rust stalkers and am considering a stalker skaven mash up, wanted to finish the two rank and file guys first, i did try and use some ranger arms and guns on them but found them difficult to fit on the torso. Problem was probably me using leftover bits from a ranger box rather than the full sets of matching arms. Am alao planning a skaven admech guy using the robot claws from the stalker box and a bunch of tentacles and extra arms from a dark eldar homonculous.

I like them a lot Blackhand. The upper arms (shoulders/biceps) look a bit weedy to me though. Perhaps it's just lack of thickness in these areas when compared to their length that's bothering me.

@graven - thanks, im liking that they aren'.t just skaven in space but have an asthetic of their own, even if it just bases on a pic i found online.
@Gitsplitta - there is definitely a length problem with o e of the right arms but i think i can fix it. Overall, the arma are going to get layered armour plates so my hope is they will look proportional once that is done Automatically Appended Next Post: Some more greenstuff work on the rats, adding a cuff to the upper arms and the first of two layers of shoulder guard. Also added a bit of detailing to the back of the armour, i like the idea of recessed lights on their backs that help identify individuals, somehow i feel like they often fight at night, a horde of glowing red eyes and LEDs.

First off, Space Skaven look really neat much departed from just regular Skaven ported into the 40k universe.
Death Guard look awesome too. Loving the muted drab green you've got them in. Makes them look very 'military' which is a great touch for models with modelling that often looks over-the-top mutated.

@Ynneadwraith - Thanks, I had previously rusted and heavily washed the Death guard but while I was painting these Termies I decided to cut back on the corrosion and even went back and repainted my Power Armour guys to only have rust on the metal and corrosion effect s only in the pitting on the armour rather than all over

@Graven - Its been a learning curve for sure. When i first picked up the dark imperium box i was pretty sure I was going to be heavy on the washes and rust but after seeing the paintjobs online I decided to keep them a bit tidier and am liking the reault so far...... kind of regret not trying a more far out colour scheme though, have seen some black and bright green DG that really pop.

Yeah i have seen some beautiful work done with a rusted brown underpaint, masking and green top coat. Gives a fantastic rust effect for metals but I don't have the patience for it tbh.

Have been revisiting a small band of Dark Mechanicus I started a few montha ago, picked up a cheap Dominus and a bunch of bitz.
Dominus
AI Drones and Servitor
Radium Sharpshooter
With all the bitz that come with the Dominus I decided to have a go at a second a Tech Priest
I was really unhappy with the sculpting on the robes of the kitbash Dominus and I also realised too late that I didnt even want 2 of them!
So that has been where my Dark Mechanicus have been sitting for a while but a stray thought caught me this weekend and I have dissassembled the second tech-priest and put together this guy...
I will probably put together a couple of aero- drones for him as well. While I was rebuilding the Dominus I also got a few coats of paint on the Sharpshooter and I am pretty happy with where he is going.
C&C welcome as always,
Cheers,

Thanks guys, its been intereating to play around in the AdMech space. Trying to define what makes them "dark" Mech is interesting since so many of the Admech signatures, replacement of flesh with machine, subjucation to group think, are already outside human norms. My backstory is that Dominus has gone rogue or been excommunicated due to experimenting with AI enhancement of his own mind and is now on the run, building his own AI linked cabal of drones and soldiers.
This means i can use a few visual cues to differentiate them from the "normal" AdMech.
- rusted and salvaged machinery incorporated into the models
- robotic drones with a large variation in body types.
- humans that have had their craniums replaced with AI drones, as in the Dark Tech has had to kidnap and rebuild his own troops.
Again, wihout an army in mind its very easy to just build what comes to mind
