Not exactly. It would be more like they closed another pathway to Imperial Nihilius thus creating two empires, the Prime Imperium and Imperium Nihilius

The twisted little monkey marines; yeah. I think your figures are low, pretty sure at least a full company of standard BA were left, excluding successors but I’d have to crack the codex in front of me and read the gak fluff about Ultras and Khorne saving them, and I’d rather not. Plus Guilliman delivered their share of BA Primaris so “ta da; full chapters again with 9 companies of Primaris!”.

Hopefully we get new Abby, new CSM and Havocs at least, actual kits for Chosen and Cultists, new Termies, possessed, Chaos Lord/Sorceror and Zerkers and if we’re really lucky, new Oblits and Mutilators.

This would go a long way to making CSM look much more modern and appealing. Some of their minisnwere horrendous back in third, and some of them are still around.

I suspect you're right. I bet in book 2 we'll see the launch of Abby, New Oblits and some other stuff. Necrons and the like.

Give me a Primaris Lt or Captain with a souped up Cawl pattern Thunder Hammer and they might convince me the insane prices they’re charging for characters these days could be possibly justified lol.

From what I remember the Blood Angels and their successors (even the excommunicated chapter) lost a huge proportion of their marines including all chapter masters except Dante and GabSeth. I never got the impression that they were that there were that many casualties that there were only ~100 marines remaining between all chapters.
