What's the program written in? Any chance you could post the source somewhere?

I'm wondering if the re-roll to attacks helps the rending more efficeintly than the Daemonic Strength

That config is 3.46 kills, mode 4, KPP 0.031.

I don't think you realize how the lists are generated -- my program compares every possible configuration of offensive abilities and picks the best one for every point value. Hrm, I notice that I totally failed to mention that earlier

Anyway, yes, the way the tables are generated is I have a program that compares every possible configuration with the given constraint, simulate ten million combats (because after spending some time trying to come up with a closed form that handled rending and rerolls, I thought to myself "hell, I can just simulate this ten million times for each configuration"). Eventually I'll simulate combat including attacks from the victims as skyth suggests, but probably after I figure out a way to figure in movement in some way that's actually meaningful.

Actually, no.  I understood what you were doing, and figured that combo wasn't 'viable'.  I was curious nonetheless.  Thanks for the info.

I got to say, I truly appreciate your ingenuity of "just simulat(ing) this ten million times for each configuration".  I was curious how you had figured out all the statistical possibilities, especially considering rending and re-rolls.

Thanks for the info.

Hey Lowinor, Thanks for the great work. Now, how about the Khorne Lords? I am very curious about their efficiency.

Khorne should be up sometime this week. I need to make sure my Rage of Khorne is actually giving accurate results combined with an Axe of Khorne...

I should have been a bit more specific in my post, I actually really like this idea, however I feel that the average player may not be able to interpret a chart like this to the same degree that the average Dakka poster can. It gives information in a manner exactly like Snoogums says it does, which is great, but should never be the only consideration, which like Darrian said, this perspective is aquired via playing the army itself.
As for my contention about the artificial inflation of value of Spikey bits/mastercrafting; when I started playing with Chaos, I was a firm Spikey Bits believer, and yes I will agree with you 100% that your post is statistically correct in the KPP of spikey bits. What I found was that when doing pre-charge math, if I needed the Spikey Bits to eek out the win, it was probably not a charge I wanted to perform anyway. While it does statistically increase kills, it seems that it is a win-more style piece of wargear, in that it is only useful if you didn't actually need it in the first place.
Keep up the good work Lowinar. I do truly like this, and am wondering, could you run the Greater Daemons and the two Forgeworld Really Great Daemons as well?

Great stuff, Lowinor.

As a suggestion; you could put a symbol into your chart to mark out lords that are able to damage T8 models ? a quick visual marker to let people know; without having to generate a whole new set of tables.

You could also expand this idea for AV 12+ etc.

Again, great stuff ? these mathematical models are invaluable to those of us without the time, inclination or ability(!) to generate them; so thanks again.

Just a note that the upcoming Khornate and Nurglish lords are still coming, just with living in a disaster area, my time has been a bit limited

You live in a disaster area? What is that all about? New Orleans?

Broome County, NY -- in a state of emergency and federal disaster area currently. A lot of last week for me was trying to keep water out of our basement. We were pretty lucky, a town that some of my in-laws live in was effectively destroyed.
