And i did a little more on my primaris kill team ... i mostly paint on them when i have another paint out for a different mini and want to use the same paint on them as well.

they are un named for their chapter ... i just decided .. hey i want metallic silver.

One thing that kept bugging me on one of the minis from a friend .. the guy had no hand ... so i dug around in my bits till i found a hand hah! ... got the ok from him to attach it .. and now it doesnt look as out of place at least ...

Really nice work, like the different schemes you are taking on. I am completely with you on not sweating the little stuff, just enjoy it bud, you are certainly off to a great start.

thanks! that means a lot i see myself as casual mostly because i do it to relax hah .. i will dig up an older mini photo to post with this message that i tried hard on but kept getting frustrated while painting it because of all the little mistakes i kept seeing. i still have him in my display case as a reminder .. was done around 2015 and i stopped shortly after that for a while ... one day i will dig out bits and make him again with the new attitude that has clicked with me.

Biggest thing i have found that works for me is skipping around to different things instead of an assembly line of the same paint over and over again ...

Did some more painting again today ... one of the blood angels for friend is done ... now working on the second one more...

Are you going to do something about the bottom of that Thunder Hammer?

It's a great mini, but my eye keeps getting pulled to the half-shaft.

noticed it the other day, will prob trim it off and put the bottom of something else in place of it before painting it more.

Finally have these finished for my friend .. been busy at work so have only been doing a little painting here and there this past week.

Well, had a day off. and decided to try out the contrast paints i had picked up ...

i did use Vallejo airbrush primer for the base, with a slight zenethial highlight .. i think i could have done more contrast in it after the fact tho .. but still very, very happy with how it has turned out...

the only parts that were thinned, were when i was putting the red over the yellow ... i put some of the contrast medium on the yellow (once dry) first and then pulled the red over onto it and worked it around some ...

the claws and bone bits were painted over with zantri dust (spelling?) before using skeleton horde contrast over them ...

all i have left to do is the collars ... plan on touching up the overages on it some then using black contrast on them .. may not need to touch them up first honestly but prob will to be safe...

all in all about 40 minutes worth of painting on it, including the priming ... i am happy with the outcome ... still not certain about if i will try it on armor .. but am loving it for skin and teeth and such...

Certainly seems to work out well enough. Nice work. Got a great blend on the frill.

Thanks i wasnt sure how well it was going to turn out till it started drying ... decided to wait and see since it is new stuff to me instead of panic and try to get it off.

Finished up two shapeways minis for a friend, he just wanted some colors on them for his RPG games...

I also have the Karanak, going to leave him like this to remind myself of full contrast on painting. I am honestly happy with how it turned out .. maybe 50 min total in paint time, and a good amount of that was sweating over the little white dots for the eyes... and a little touch up here and there on the red once it had fully cured and opened up a spot or two (also, from a little handling some had wore off on corners while moving it from the block i was painting to the base once it was done.

I am likely going to add a bit or two to the base to break it up a little bit.

Tried doing an oil wash on my primaris... i think i need a second pass ... i think my mixture was to thin ... cleaned them up and can faintly see it in the recess areas .. but want a little bit more contrast in the shadows...

Started repainting my Iron Warriors, i held one of my old ones up next to a new airbrushed base one and was not happy .. so they went into the CSC dip to soak ... luckally it was only about 20 minis ...

here are the others, so far.

Salvaged and magnetized two predators, and did some more playing around with contrast paints on an AoS figure that has been sitting around for a while.

Oh, i also started on a handful of orks ... i really have no direction on what i am going to paint next.

A little more painting before heading to work today.
