So sorry for the very late reply but my wife just opened a small restaurant and RL priorities came flooding in.

Okay so no white on models except for bases. Shake it well if you must use it. Use white only for highlighting.

Noted guys. Thanks!

How about using it for highlighting on tiny parts like say, the edges of the pauldron of an Iyanden eldar?

Gray Seer is a good alternative, I like it. As far as highlighting it's definitely possible if you can strain out of some of the clumpy garbage and thin it with a little medium.

Just buy another brand. Vallejo white is fine.

Ceramite White was always doomed to fail. Firstly, as mentioned previously, white pigment is notoriously hard to create good coverage while also being thin enough to actually use. Secondly, a pure white basecoat will need 5-6 layers over a dark base in other to give smooth coverage, and if you notice, even the Warhammer TV tutorials go for Celestra Grey instead when doing white basecoats, while old White Dwarf tutorials for White Scars suggest Ulthuan Grey through a spraygun/airbrush.

Thirdly, pure white is never ideal as it makes shading hard.

That's not to say I haven't gotten some good results with Ceramite White, but I always feel its not the best it could be and I wouldn't be replacing it anyway. I think if one were to use a grey or white basecoat it would work a lot better but the point of ceramite white was always to do patches on white on a black basecoat.

I agree with queen_annes_revenge, Vallejo Model Color White is a great white.
Another extremely good color is VMC Ivory (warm offwhite) and VMC Pale Grey Blue (cold offwhite).

Near Jupiter.

I think White Scar is terrible, not sure about Ceramite, but white scar is so bad, when mixed with black it turns blue in to my opinion.

Yeah I did notice that even if used with other colors, when it dries, it does leave a horrible texture.

Good for terrain <----- thanks for the tip!

While technique is the most important thing for painting white, I'd still have to say that I'm not sure I've ever found a white I really like. Ceramite White was probably the worst of a bad lot. I think I tried Vallejo White, and finally am currently using P3 White with a tiny bit of matte medium added to the bottle.

Yikes.

Yeah, I'll defo just use this for terrain then.

I bought a pot of Praxeti White. I suppose I can just use Ghost Grey then dry brush the Praxeti on?
