Its not sexy, but I think I want to just the base model. You have some of everything there. Good number of shots from the gun, MW generator, Rad Cleanser to help with anti infantry, the Claw for HTH. Cheap at 150 points.
Some of the other options are great, but I do like this option a lot.

Could take a lightning gun and claw give it +1 str and damage to the gun and you still got CC ability and auto hit flat 3 gun. I like this.
This version has no top gun ether?
How so?
I don't really see the rad cleanser measuring up to the other guns. how often does 3 damage with no AP helps?
Just pointing out you retain the close combat weapon. That is pretty big when you get a pretty decent flammer as well. Automatically Appended Next Post: Daedalus81 wrote: Xenomancers wrote: Double C beams is also amazing for long range blasting (which is easy to stay at max range with 14" moves).
Can't do double C-Beam otherwise i'd run that all day long...it has most of the benefits, but none of the downsides (no move and shoot) of regular C-Beams.
I see that now it is excluded from the second list. You think that is a mistake? Makes no sense every other weapon can be taken twice but not this one.

Not certain, but it is a "bigger" gun compared to the others.

What the heavier Tesla cannons should be for necrons.
Really liking the looks of the Lightning Lock versions. 155 points is quite a steal really. Compared to my usual chaff clearance which is a Twin assault cannon razorback at 144 points for the same number of S6 shots. The Moirax costs 11 points more but for those points you get 2 extra wounds and a 5++ save on defense. You get a AP-2 and exploding 6s on offense. You get faster movement and ignore the penalty for moving and firing heavy weapons.

2d6 autohits that wound on 2+ and then you crash into melee for added fun.
Lascannons haven't been supreme knight killers despite having ap. Ap isn't everything when every really tough target has inv save anyway. 0.83333 wound per shot( 2d6 of those) vs 0.444 if you hit on 3+ and wound on 3+
The zippy nature of the platform makes for decent character hunters. Dash into position, pop the screen with a supporting unit, then shake n bake with the nuclear fire.

I'm wondering if 'weapon of your choice', plus a Claw is better in a Soup list?
For ripping into big stuff, you pack a lot of punch for pretty modest points?

Do we think the C-Beam Weapon Arms for the FW Contemptor Dreadnought would be the correct size to mount on the Armiger Moirax? Some modifications around the mounting point may need to be done of course

Can't see them being terribly far off in terms of scale?
The Lightning Locks look pretty stubby.
Oooooooh. Even the barrel from the Heresy Era Predator could help? I suspect there may be a fair few on Bitz sites, given they're one of a number of options in that kit?

Is the Graviton Pulsar going to be the sleeper weapon? That 4 damage on higher armored targets is some hard hits. Add in the -3 AP, it seems to be the one that Custodes won’t want to see. And Custodes are everywhere now.

Sheeesh, they are some nasty weapon profiles on a pretty durable/cheapish platform.

Yes. It is the custode killer. The str 6 does hurt it though. I face them a lot. Would be great at killing their terms and pretty good at killing their bikes. The reality is though all these guns are pretty good at killing custodes. LOL cause they are all good guns.

Seriously people have already shown that better options than these exsist in GW codex's and yet your here complaining that these are broken, the moriax is one of the few actually playable units in this updated version of the rules and guess what their original stronger rules versions were never taken in competitive lists because they weren't able to compete with other options now they dont even compete with base codex knight loadouts.
If you want them squatted from the game atleast have the guts to stand up and say it instead of pretending that these are even close to being OP units.

They'll be available from FW with the caveat that some of the double weapon combinations people keep talking about haven't been shown and the implication being you might have to buy two to get a pair of the weapons.
I'd imagine the various 3rd party companies will have a fix for us in short order.
Definitely. Probably by Monday someone will have their interpretation on eBay.
Na, it will take AT LEAST until Wednesday.
We just need a few more to have all the options...

Just picked up 2 of these guys at Gencon. I went with the lightning locks for both of them. I'm gonna try to get them painted up before my next tournament.

I'm also expecting a nerf. I don't think it will be by much, maybe just raising the base cost to 150. But most of the Moriax should be in the 160 range I think.

I just hope it's only that bad.
I would still love to understand what justification they had for nerfing already barely viable rules for the other FW Knights.

Dude, it is 100% chaos Knights.
Tough 10 Acastus Knights was going to be a catastrophe. And I expect they have wanted to reign in some of the Cerastus shenanigans for some time.
And having easily used autoheal when you can self harm to power up would have been an issue.
THat said, I don't understand why they didn't repoint the units that got most clobbered by the Nerfs. The acastus class in the low 700 range to compete with the overpriced Castellan makes sense. The Atrpos, Styrix, and Mageara dropping a few points to be more in line with their abilities on the table would have also been nice.

Fine nerf the choas versions it's not like the choas version of 30k dreadnaughts and loyalist versions arn't very different.
But I have a few very sad knights now they have been reduced to display ornaments

I think only the Acastus class are beyond help right now. Maybe the Atropos also.
But I was never fond of the Atropos. It was always so dependent on your opponent bringing what it wanted to fight. I always considered it a corner case even more than the Porphy.

Fwiw I feel that the new rules for the Castigator helped it. Especially making him Iconoclast.
I'm gonna work on getting the Moirax assembled and painted within the next couple weeks.
