Howdy folks.

Finished a unit of Wild Men of Drúadan. Took me waaay too long to complete. Nice models on there own, but with only 3 sculpts across 12 models they got pretty samey very quickly, so I converted a few. And then I felt inspired so I turned a Mordor Troll drum into a forest drum.
My painting on these isn't the best and is a bit rough in some places. I also haven't used any metallics on them which honestly was kind of strange.

In total took me roughly ~17-18 hours to complete. Too long in my opinion, but they're done now and I don't plan ever painting another batch. So we'll call it a win and leave it at that.

I like them a lot. The drum in particular is inspired.

Awesome work that drum looks war weary

They look great. Poor Woses though, probably the most ignored unit in the game. In 20+ years of playing this, I've probably only seen them 3 times on the table.

Yeah, very nice work. Good to see the Woses get some love - I do have a box, but they are way down the list to paint as they don't come into the scenarios until ROTK

Thanks guys! I'm pretty pleased how the drum came out. It really helps when you have a well worn drum kit on hand to use as reference material.

Cheers! Yeah can't say i've ever seen them used in game. On the face of it they look like they have potential. Handful special rules and poisoned shooting as standard reads pretty good. But stat wise and complete lack of units makes them very underwhelming. If their blow pipes had longer range or if they could move/shoot/move to take advantage of their special rules, they might actually see some use.

Thanks. I'm not sure what spurred me on to paint theses up. They certainly jumped a few places on the to-do list. Possibly because it was only 13 minis in the entirety.

Woses are useful in one Legendary Legion, but I'm not sure that one is even considered competitive. I just think it's cool that they have models at all, being as they only appeared in the books.

My armies (re-counted and updated on 11/1/23, including modeled wargear options):
Dark Angels: ~15000 Astra Militarum: ~1200 | Adeptus Custodes: ~1900 | Imperial Knights: ~2000 | Sisters of Battle: ~3500 | Leagues of Votann: ~1200 | Tyranids: ~2600 | Stormcast Eternals: ~5000

Well if the profile picture on the LoTR wiki entry for Ghân is anything to go by, then the Woses were supposed to be in the RoTK, and Ghân was to be portrayed by this actor. Although they idea was clearly got cut early on.

The woses are one of thing things that, disappointed as I was to see them get cut, I can completely understand why they did it.
