It can achieve a 2+ on its own by sitting in cover and the 5+ vs spells is a city trait. The other units that can buff it would not be in an army just to buff that one unit.

So I could clarify it is a unit that is naturally very tanky and fairly killy. Often hitting on 2+ wounding on 3+. Than can benefit greatly from other units.


Note the shield of thorns from Sisters of the Thorn lasts untill the unit moves. So the sisters unit is not constrained to sit there buffing it every round.

My point in mentioning the cost is that for a durable unit its fairly cheap allowing you to invest in other units that can hopefully deal with the mortal wound spewing enemies.
