What's so bad about charging into close combat, unholstering the heavy bolter pistol, shooting it, then reholstering it and then fisting bad guys? Makes me think the pilot of an Invictus War Suit is bad- !

That part is not the issue.

The issue is the invictor pilot doing all that while any other dread cannot just point their fist at an enemy in the shooting phase then punch them as basically 3-4 motions(raise fist and fire, pull fist back, punch). While the invictor, when already engaged, has to: unholster, raise and fire, reholster, pull back, punch.

Bertbert: sort of? You would have to trim the pivot posts off the upper plate and glue it on place. Frankly, plasticard over the bars would be much easier.

This is my Rulebook. There are many Like it, but this one is mine. Without me, my rulebook is useless. Without my rulebook, I am useless.

You know, I avoided this thread here for a bit but now that I've seen it.

You have a point, it is pretty dumb that the dread can't use the under slung guns to shoot in CC like a pistol considering it literally is under the arm that he'd be squishing smashing people with.

I think its just they don't want dreads to be too cool and the mushy mush head designers haven't thought on it, or couldn't be bothered to give cool new rules to old models. As honestly it makes no sense, unless you're saying with this old dreads would become " OP " at which point, I would mock you for heresy.

While I like the model overall, it really has grown on me, the heavy bolter pistol is levels of stupid my brain just cannot comprehend so..

The heavy bolter pistol is so ridiculous, it's easily my favorite thing from 40K in literally years.
