Aside: Pondering best Terminators historically. 7e Imperial Soup's invisible rerollable-2++ Hammernator deathstar (Ministorum Priest + Sanctuary + Invisibility), 5e Paladins (Musical Wounds abuse means you have to do one wound per model to the squad before they actually take any casualties), or pre-nerf 30k biomancy-buffed Raptora Sekhmet (3++, Eternal Warrior, 4+ FNP, S/T7, 5 AP2 attacks at I7)?

2nd edition wolf guard. A squad where every single model carries an assault cannon and cyclone missile launcher.....

If every model ripple-fires all 12 krak missiles in one go (yes that was an option) and full sustained fire the assualt cannon (getting ~ 6 shots at a power roughly equal to more krak missiles) and misfires will kill a fair number but they could basically exterminate a 2nd edition 40k army in a single shooting phase.

I've also seen one of those squads self-annihilate tho.

It was sort of a terrible unit because you could only shoot at the closest unit. You couldnt spread all that firepower around, and god help you if one of those cyclones started misfiring. Scary on paper but really sketchy to actually play.
