It should go without saying, but I'm going to say it any way, the finecast and metal stuff all needs replaced with plastic first.

However, lets pretend that's something GW will do in a timely manner without increasing the costs of everything they update too much more than they would just because. If we're looking at a new range, I'd quite like Renegades And Heretics and Dark Mechanicum. Really like the glimpses we've had from Blackstone Fortress and it's not a huge departure for existing stuff. They've both been around the lore for ages.

I'd kinda want to see Squats though, mainly because so many people fondly remember them, and partly because I don't think I'd be too interested so it'd save me some money. Of course, if they made them cool I'd probably still get a Kill Team or so.

First: i am not sure if gw could even change it's greedy ways in an alternative universe, it's quite like a law of physics.

They 've both been around the table in one book for ages aswell.
Just after 8th declared bleighs last work invalid and replaced it with what i can only assume beeing done by a drunken intern, R&H and their subfaction of Darkmech (yes they were there, yes you could lobotomize your basic soldiers, yes it was awesome).
Ironically they also had prototype traits, that A worked, and B were all worth it and C actually balanced, which makes this situation right now even more eregious.

Oh, I'm aware they used to be quite a fluffy, fun army. If they were decently competitive, even better. I'm just saying I'd like them in plastic. I'm (relatively) cheap.

Updating old models - they're already doing this with Banshees and Primarization of SM characters.
They'd better be. Banshees are not listed for Craftworlds at present, either Finecast nor plastic.

idea:
They should do a series of build your own character/HQ kits.
They've already got some HQ units with multi-part kits for varying options, the Chaos Terminator Lord/Sorcerer and Spare Marine Commander jump out as being two of the more varied, and relatively cheap ones.
I was just thinking about all the options they've provided in the past, and/or still do, which don't have models. Now, I don't see them bothering to re-do some of the glaringly horrible exclusions to the "No Model No Rules NO KITBASHING" thing they've got going on at the moment, but there are still loads of options where that is an issue, and unless they're going to stop discouraging people from having some creativity, they need to provide kits with all the options.

Doing that could be a good way to add some Index options back in too, or maybe even give some armies multiple HQ units. Hell, a singular HQ wouldn't go amiss for some (SoS). It'd be great to get kits supplied with at least the basic load-outs for every unit but they just did Chaos Terminators with a massive, power clawed finger up to anyone wanting a uniform loadout with minimal points usage, and It takes just doubling a sprue in stuff like the Eldar War Walker to give the dual weapons options, so I'm not holding out too much hope.

I mean, as someone that owns old R&H aswell as 3rd party aswell as the new BSF bunch, i gotta say the style of the old ones is better imo, but the BSF bunch is great for cheaply intermixing with regular cadians and getting the wished effect.
That said, a full box of em, prefereably with a stubber aswell, would be bloody awesome.

I'd really like for Noise Marines to get a plastic kit, and for Possessed and Berzerkers to get new kits.

Focus on the old stuff. The last thing the GW line of models needs right now is yet more factions to regularly update.

I think one of the big problems with 40k is that it branched out into too many factions over the years. And it's pretty tough to "squat" a faction once it has acquired a player base. I understand that new factions get a lot of players to start new armies, but you might get the same effect from redoing an old faction with mind-blowingly amazing models.
