Now that Sororitas in plastic are nigh, what fan wish should they tackle next?

I am down for either plastic Thunderhawk or plastic Squats. Tho at this point I would prefer even a 100% FW resin Squat army

what does Dakka think?

I wanna say plastic thunderhawk, or everything with 20 year old sculpts. The problem with the first is the new resin one is relatively recent and with the other there are some plastic kits that are 20 years old and still hold up. I would have rather seen "redo all resin kits" but close enough

I don't care about any of the options listed, but at the same time I don't think GW is unable to write good rules. And I don't know who or what a squat is, besides an exercise you do every warm up.

If you have to kill, then kill in the best manner. If you slaughter, then slaughter in the best manner. Let one of you sharpen his knife so his animal feels no pain.

Are ... are you serious? I'm going to assume you're serious. Squats were Space Dwarves, GW discontinued them after 2nd ed if I remember correctly. They're the reason dakka dakka refers to discontinuing an army as "squatting" them.

If they removed them that long ago, then I doubt they are going to bring them back. Thank you for the explanation.

you have no idea of which you speak. If it's on the wall of clocks it is at least feasible that they revisit Rotundus.

Kharadron are so Squat that it hurts, they just stopped a little short in 40k-ing them.

We have 2 current Squat models in 40k(Albeit in Necromunda) that are beautifully executed. So it's not like they totally forgot them, they're even mentioned on the last page of the 8th ed rulebook.

Update old sculpts and get the finecast out of the system.

I think that's better than focusing on new armies as updated sculpts sell to new and existing customers. Of course it varies army to army - Tyranids are not too bad but have a few key ones that need updating. Eldar and Dark Eldar have a fair bit of finecast.

Meanwhile one can argue that Tau could do with Kroot side getting a nice update even though some are in plastics.

Thunderhawk in plastic might happen one day; the problem is its always going to be a niche thing and a high priced one at that. Which just makes it REALLY unattractive as a plastic project. It's the kind of thing that I could see happening if GW found a much cheaper way to produce their plastic models (ergo if the moulds could be made far cheaper). 3D printing keeps getting banded around, but thus far the technology is much slower than regular casting and it also has its own host of technical issues to consider.

I should also note that AoS is in a MUCH WORSE position than 40K. AoS has a lot of armies with finecast and even metal models still kicking around; plus many plastics that are almost first generation. Skaven are a prime example having multiple metal, finecast and very early plastics all in one faction and they are a very popular faction. Many others need updates; plus there's a good few with very small army rosters that could do with fleshing out with new options to broaden their range.

Update Renegade and Heretics. They are 90% of the way there with the Blackstone fortress releases. Just toss those in with some conversion kits for the current IG vehicle range like they did with genestealer cults and a rulebook and boom you're done.

I just would like to see the end of fine cast. Too many factions have to rely on it, it straight up sucks to work with.

New guardsmen would be nice, I really think any models that are near 20 years old should probably get a nice do-over.

GW should rethink the "Codex" release model. Having a wild and crazy band of twits who don't talk to each other pump out a vast amount of stuff for each Codex may sound fun on paper but in practice it's probably the worst possible structure for producing balance or a game that makes sense, and there are armies for whom the idea of a stand-alone Codex just doesn't work. Custodes are barely propped up by a couple of overpowered units (some of which are Forge World and hellishly expensive), Sisters of Silence, Corsairs, Assassins, and the Inquisition need special rules to get around the whole structure of detachments the rest of the game is built for, and the Grey Knights just don't have enough tools to function as an army when you try and make them a standalone all-GK force.

Balanced Game: Noun. A game in which all options and choices are worth using.

Hey, back in Sept of '16 they brought the Genestealer Cult back. Prior to that their last appearance was 16 years earlier back in 2k in the pages of The Citadel Journal magazine #40 using archive models, conversions & telling you to buy misc brand model/toy cars/vehicles.

So we Squat (space dwarf) owners continue to hope. Until then my dwarfs continue to serve as another Guard unit....

In terms of models - as opposed to rules - getting rid of Finecast should probably be their first priority, starting with the rest of the Aspect Warriors.

Just update the models currently in finecast to plastic.

Unrealistic, but they should focus on that instead of pumping out more armies.

Well, redoing old sculpts is not on GW's agenda as shown by manufactoring the old Inquisitor models for a week or so.
I think Guard and more Marines are to come.
After all, Marines is the best selling product of GW.
Xenos is more a niche.

None of the above.

I'd like some new characters for those armies that have models of 20+ years (in metal or finecast tipycally) or few HQ choices like drukhari.

Updated Ghaz, Grotsnik and Warboss models plus a new (or return of existing characters) biker HQ and named psyker would be awesome.

After the incubi release, plastic kits of court of the archon, beasts and grotesques would be amazing as well.

It should go without saying, but I'm going to say it any way, the finecast and metal stuff all needs replaced with plastic first.

However, lets pretend that's something GW will do in a timely manner without increasing the costs of everything they update too much more than they would just because. If we're looking at a new range, I'd quite like Renegades And Heretics and Dark Mechanicum. Really like the glimpses we've had from Blackstone Fortress and it's not a huge departure for existing stuff. They've both been around the lore for ages.

I'd kinda want to see Squats though, mainly because so many people fondly remember them, and partly because I don't think I'd be too interested so it'd save me some money. Of course, if they made them cool I'd probably still get a Kill Team or so.

Take a look at what I've been painting and modelling: https://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/0/725222.page

First: i am not sure if gw could even change it's greedy ways in an alternative universe, it's quite like a law of physics.

They 've both been around the table in one book for ages aswell.
Just after 8th declared bleighs last work invalid and replaced it with what i can only assume beeing done by a drunken intern, R&H and their subfaction of Darkmech (yes they were there, yes you could lobotomize your basic soldiers, yes it was awesome).
Ironically they also had prototype traits, that A worked, and B were all worth it and C actually balanced, which makes this situation right now even more eregious.

Wonder how many of the 38% that want the range updated were the same folks who whined when GW did exactly that and took 4 finecast units and made them plastic as part of PA1.

well the problem with GW updating models is sometimes, instead of redoing a box and puting more weapon options inside, they go crazy and decide that now Paladins are going to be on even bigger bases, will be sold 3 per box, cost like agressors, and they will come with 1 different weapon load out each, but to play with the unit effectivly your going to need 3 models armed the same way.

Or they make the 53th primaris Lt. This time scratching his foot, while sitting on an ammo create.
