Abaddon easily Abaddon, takes a classic character and updates him making him new and menacing while retaining the old elements of the character we know and love

I can't believe someone voted for the Invictor Warsuit. All I can think when I see it is "DREADNAUGHT DEMOITION DERBY! COME SEE UNDEAD SPACE MARINE CAAAAAAARNAGE! THIS SUNDAY, AND THIS SUNDAY ONLY, AT THE ROGERS WIRELESS TELECOMMUNICATIONS AMPITHEATRE IN DOWNTOWN OGDENVILLE! SUNDAY! SUNDAY!! SUNDAY!!!"

Or because it references something. there can be plenty of reason for each model to appeal to someone, no ill will on that.

Definately didn't for me though, as it is my most disliked model this year aside from maybe the new repentia. frankly nearly all of these models elicited from me either a groan or a "that exists". except the GSC, grombrindal, and the "repentia superior" in the boxset. out of those, Grombrindal for me was the winner for reason i stated earlier.

Army: none currently.

1: The Warmaster!
2: New CSM
3: New Havocs

But lets be honest, most of these sculpts are really damn good. GW's quality has improved so much since I started in late 4th ed. Even when there's design elements I don't like so much (primaris), they are so well executed that they still end up looking great.

Always 1 on the crazed roll.

I voted for the Tectonic Fragdrill.

As terrain it's always useful on the table*, no matter what armies (or games) we're playing.

*I have no idea if it has any further GSC unique rules. If it does no one I know has ever used them. Still looks great on the table though.

It is excellent to see the full list.

For the record though, all the Blackstone models have 40k rules- some really good Admech sculpts in 2019 and lots of traitor guard including a commissar and an ogryn. Also an Admech Magos in a Kill Team box that isn't yet available as a standalone kit.

The new cultists from Necromunda might have bespoke 40k rules, but even if not they are viable models to represent regular old codex cultists. Not sure if that qualifies them for the list.

It took me more time to find Abbadon on this list than it did to know exactly he was what I was voting for. Hands down the best model of 2019, and there was some stiff competition this year.

Traitor guard are proably my most anticipated release for 2020. and I don't even intend to buy into said army, it'll just be nice to see it

Do you mean the boxed set one? I think she's supposed to represent the power-sword, boltgun, rod-of-office loadout, which is explicitly legal in the codex? I have it on me and just checked.

She carries plasma pistol though...or that's very weird looking boltgun.

Not having boltgun is an lssue yes. As is carrying plasma pistol. No way you can have rod of office and plasma pistol. Best wysiwyg solution is to say rod is just a decoration.

Not on the list but I would have to opt for the Greater Daemon of Slaanesh as my number one. I voted for Abbadon as he is is truly fantastic, Mephiston and Adrax came close. I'm also a huge fan of the SM Incursor models plus Lt in Phobos.

Hmm… yeah… plasma pistol WOULD be a problem. Is it cut-off-able?

I mean, I could presumably go open up my box to check, and look for solutions, but see, the thing is, I am extremely lazy.

it's not really very cut offable, but it's also not exactly visable. I expect GW to issue errata. IMHO the only reason to restrict the rod of office to boltgun only is the model after all. my guess is they'll clarify that the bolt gun can be replaced with a plasma gun, inferno pistol etc

Yeah, the extreme specificity of the rod of office having to go with a power sword is what made me think that build was specifically intended to be represented by this model.

OTOH, there's also the weird rule about the brazier of holy fire or null rod having to go with a chainsword, so…

One should not be forced to cut models to be legal. And there's no boltgun spare and marine boltguns might not look same and be same size.

Best for gw to fix rules so one does not need to cut model. Not everybody can fix damage 100% perfectly.

for what it's worth, the SOB bolt gun IS more or less just like the marine bolt gun, at least to the point where I don't think anyone would notice a differance if you kitbashed a Marine boltgun onto a Sister model

They do have symbol marines don't have though. Haven't compared size yet though as lack of symbol is enough that I won't want it.

Plus these days bolters tends to be with fist in it. As canoness has distinct lack of free fists(she ain't no heretic with 3 arms ) it would look odd to have boltgun with no handle lying somewhere.

So yeh. I'll wait for multipart box for the current official rod of command configuration and faq for this pose. And where that faq is anyway? GW slipping on their 2 week cycle.

So many pretty models...

Kellermorph, Abaddon, Lord Discordant, Chaos Sorcerer, Tor Garadon, many of the Sister models...

However, In the end the vote went to the one model I can actually field in one of my armies - Da Red Gobbo

7 Ork facts people always get wrong:
Ragnar did not win against Thrakka, but suffered two crushing defeats within a few days of each other.
A lasgun is powerful enough to sever an ork's appendage or head in a single, well aimed shot.
Orks meks have a better understanding of electrics and mechanics than most Tech Priests.
Orks actually do not think that purple makes them harder to see. The joke was made canon by Alex Stewart's Caphias Cain books.
Gharkull Blackfang did not even come close to killing the emperor.
Orks can be corrupted by chaos, but few of them have any interest in what chaos offers.
Orks do not have the power of believe.

for me it would be Amalia Novena. Just looks like a very iconic SoB Miniature, and was (as it was for many others), the first of the new plastic lineup, I could get my hands on. Neyam Shai Murad with her revolver-loading servo-skull or the Blackstone Primaris Psyker woudl also be on my list.

As far as the choices above, i voted for the jackals.

She's holding a power sword in the other hand, and… as is usually the case… can't have two power weapons.

I think BrianDavion is right that we should probably just wait for an errata, since they almost certainly *meant* for that model to be the Rod of Office / Power Sword one and just screwed up because they were trying to rush out the codex and boxset before Christmas.

Guardsmen, hear me! Cadia may lie in ruin, but her proud people do not! For each brother and sister who gave their lives to Him as martyrs, we will reap a vengeance fiftyfold! Cadia may be no more, but will never be forgotten; our foes shall tremble in fear at the name, for their doom shall come from the barrels of Cadian guns, fired by Cadian hands! Forward, for vengeance and retribution, in His name and the names of our fallen comrades!
