Excluding Forgeworld 30K models so it's not just a mile long list of Legion Dreadnought variants and also excluding re-releases of models from previous years (e.g. Daemons from Wrath and Rapture, Wake the Dead characters).

When you see them listed out like that, GW have pumped out a lot of fantastic models this year.

Abaddon for me...

I vote dishonorable mention for all of the releases on that list which are only present in US $200+ sets.

It was a tough list, but then there's Abaddon. He's a really incredible model. My vote went to him. If it wasn't for Abaddon, I'd probably vote either the Venomcrawler or Mephiston.

GSC Kellermorph wasn't this year?

I want to vote Abbadon - and maybe this is because he's still on the sprue so I haven't held him assembled in person yet, but the GSC biker with the sniper rifle is just perfect. She's no where near as intimidating as Abba but the model is so well done.

Worst model of the year is the GSC Abominant. "That's it?" was exactly what I said when I held the finished model. He's puny and no bigger or scarier than a regular abom so he's now a squad leader while I made my own scratchbuilt Abominant.

I missed the Kelermorph doing my scan of Warhammer Community since he came out in a Kill Team release.

I have to say the revamped Chaos Space Marines were simply beautifully done, scaled up well and baroque like they should be!

The Havocs also get a good mention too, even if I dislike that they've changed the base size on them.

I want to vote for Infiltrators or Eliminators because I probably like them the most, they single-handedly got me on the SM train after 25 years of hating spess muhreens.

But in the end I voted for Obliterators, because Chaos players will finally grind their old godawful ones into a blender and not bother me with them again. I also bought Shadowspear and will be using them myself.

Worst stinker of the year is Drazhar. Just your garden variety Incubi with a necklace on an impossibly stupid base. That POS isn't going anywhere near my DE army. The old one is still superior

The new Abaddon model is great, same for the oblits and lord discordant.

I loved the Chaos Space Marine resculpt, they kept all the coolness of the orignials which a lot of the modern resculpts fail to do!

Voted Atalan Jackals, runners-up for me were Adrax Agatone and Abaddon.

Voted for Repentia, GSC jackals runner-up for me.

He's such a characterful model that I love but I didn't want to buy a whole KT set for him so I kitbashed one. Your list was pretty exhaustive though, how long did that take to pull together?

I decided to vote for Mephiston as a faithful tribute to a great piece of Artwork. Close call between him and the new Mistress of Repentance. The Genestealer Cults quad would have also made my list for top 40k models this year.

Everyone seems to love Failbaddon, but while overall it's a great model I have a few criticisms about it that stop it from taking top place.

The drill even though I don't play GSC.

It's a super cool piece of terrain and I love it. There's nothing else like it in all of GWs terrain catalogue that also won't look out of place on any table

Tough choice. Voted for the new Repentia, but I also really love the new Incubi (not so much Drazhar), the new CSM stuff (especially the Mk IV looking marines, the terminators, and the greater possessed), the new GSC stuff, and Severina Raine.

About an hour - I just scrolled through Warhammer Community opening each pre-order post in a new tab then closed the tabs as I added stuff to the list.

Agreed. It's rare that 1 model makes me start an army. For CSM it was Abaddon. Kind of like how the newest LOC model made me start Tz daemons.

My second choice would probably be the Choas knight kit with my third favorite being the Repulsor executioner.

That's a hard choice. SOoo many great models this past year.

I ended up voting for Abaddon. Not surprised he's the front runner.

Voted for banshees because I couldn’t choose the Kellermorph.

There's like half a dozen models I could vote for on this list. They've had an amazing year.

I'm really digging the new sisters box. Even just the monopose ones turned out really sharp. My only complaint is they're way too tall, but I guess they fit between new marines and guardsmen now

That much of GSC had kits this year? huh. im still poking through them, and i have to admit they are pretty interesting, if only because i love the stages of change across them, but i can't say any particular one really screams to me.

the release i was most amused by despite it getting docked for holidays is actually the Grombrindal.

Therea a sense of amusement i get out of it. maybe it's because im always partial to dwarves, maybe it's because at one point i liked admech a lot more than i currently do, so this is like two of my favorite things smacking together. Maybe it's because it was a pleasant surprise. instead of a long wait that wound up a wash for me. i don't know.

Do you mean the boxed set one? I think she's supposed to represent the power-sword, boltgun, rod-of-office loadout, which is explicitly legal in the codex? I have it on me and just checked.

I think there’s a model that doesn’t have the right equipment in that box as written.

Are people maybe misinterpreting her power sword as a blessed blade, or her rod of office as a null rod? Or thinking that because she's not holding a boltgun in her pose that she doesn't have one?

Abaddon and Lord Discordant, really ? Well, beauty is truly subjective then (or maybe just nostalgia and the relief of not having to play good old failbaddon the armless)
