Gues there is no much use going to buy 8th edition if you have an unpainted army then.

Edition changes happen, but now is a good time to join as a Space Marine player. Your Codex is only a few months old and is solid. Spending the $ 50 (Cdn) is pretty much necessary to plan and build your army. It will make games better as well.
