So, the Inquisition then?

I mean, can you really look around at the world and the state it's in and honestly deny that there are some people that deserve to be skinned alive?

A little bit of righteous anger now and then is good, actually. Don't trust a person who never gets angry.

nah, you're thinking Ravenguard

That's funny. I was on my throne this morning doing my part to feed the Astronomican and thought of my post. Ravenguard immediately popped to mind. Wheres my fedora?!

Eldar. And weirdly enough... Khorne.

Hm, you know if Khaine had a faction it might actually be Khaine.

Catachans

80s action heroes are the way to go. Pumping iron, one liners and beating down the bad guy filth which populates the 40K universe.

It's truly a shame that the suits in Nottingham don't have the balls to let the Catachan be the poster boys for their franchise.

Instead they try to shove each week another variant of Primaries down our throats. Pretty pathetic behavior but symptomatic for a greedy suit.

I would say Imperial Guard, but it's a bit cheating considering it's immensely diverse and completely bland at the same time. It's "just a bunch of armies" under the same bureaucratic structure. So that doesn't mean much. Craftworld eldars would come second

My biggest problem to relate to 40K armies is the prevalence of faith as their core value. I don't relate well to religious people even less the fundamentalist types. Sisters of Battle are to me more alien than Tyranids.

Necrons, because I work in government and all elected officiàls are Orks because nothing they build actually works.

Guard because i'm a filthy IG fanboy.

Because they are closer to us, for all lost in the gigantic overscaled shitstorm that is the 41st millinium they might be.

Necrons as well, because I like the theme of not letting their culture and empire scattered into dust and reclaiming what they can in a way view as theirs, considering they wrestled the galaxy in a long and straining war.

Craftworld eldar are the only army where someone close to me is reflected - the random salary man forced to take up arms to fight for his home.

Every other army is made up of professional soldiers or equivalent, so I can't relate to them at all.

Being a middle class westerner in a peaceful environment where I can more or less do what I want within the bounds of the law, is exactly what a guardian is.

I wouldn’t call it relatable, but the alpha legion is the faction that I find the most enjoyment in, due to the mystery and complexity surrounding them. Are the twins really dead? Is roboute secretly omegon? Is there a third brother? (3 heads of the hydra) are they still loyal? Narratively speaking I have tons of fun with them and their rules are right up my alley with the deception game.

Eldars of course. I love their aesthetic. Their view on the world. I love their concept. I love how they live and what they had managed to do. They are strong first lorewise for me. Sadly, because of their nomadic nature, they are pretty small player on galactic scale and it is always Imperium against Chaos which comes up in the lore and when they do come out, they can be written extremely idiotically. To write Eldar takes talent. Like writing Chaos. Give it to a bad author and chaos comes as saturday morning cartoon villains whose only job is to give long, evil monologues and get their ass handed to them.

"If the path to salvation leads through the halls of purgatory, then so be it."

Death Guard = 728 (PL 41) and Space Marines = 831 (PL 50)
Slaanesh demons = 460
Khorne demons = 420
Nighthaunts = 840 points Stormcast Eternals = 880 points.

I always feel like an Ork when playing any online FPS game. No one communicates and the main strategy is to run at the enemy and throw all the firepower I have at them before I die.
