The only correct answer is 'we're making fun of the new CA mission pack'.

I was going to quote the movie Airplane! and say, "I could make a hat, or I could make a brooch, or I could make a pterodactyl!"

My armies (re-counted and updated on 9/25/20, including modeled wargear options):
Dark Angels: ~16000 | Space Marines (Blood Ravens and others): ~900 | Space Wolves: ~3800
Astra Militarum: ~800 | Officio Assassinorum: ~600 | Imperial Knights: ~1300 | Sisters of Battle: ~1900
Check out my P&M Blogs: ZergSmasher's P&M Blog | Imperial Knights blog | Total models painted in 2019: 62 | Total models painted in 2020: 36 | Current main painting project: Indomitus Marines, as Dark Angels

This video isn't about the Tactical Terrain book, but it does cover it briefly at the beginning. Not much else needs to be said.

It's a little worrying that GW are pushing this kind of thing before they've even managed to get a single Codex out for 9th.

Covid again, I'm afraid. Models come from UK, terrain often doesn't. Same with books [the GT 2020 was published by Artron in China, since the new stuff is the same weird mini, spiralbound format, I expect the same]
A Chinese printing company (and potentially manufacturing company for the terrain bits) is on a different schedule, different shutdown, different distancing restrictions.

And these codexes weren't coming without the models, no way.

It's already ringing alarm bells that the bloat in this edition is likely to come from an increasing number of tournament packs, all with rules nobody asked for.

This, on the other hand... this is likely very true, especially given that half the book is copypasta of the basic rules.

Though they're self-evidently not just 'tournament' packs.
Expect whatever random subjects that they can jam into 50 half-sized pages (including art and photos)

Wait, what? Really?! ...terrain made from the same grey plastic as the rest of GW's model range doesn't come out of Nottingham's factories?
...you sure about that? The skeptic in me would like to see a source, because it doesn't seem to make sense.

GW did do a run of terrain that was manufactured in China (Promethium Relays, some of the fortress stuff - Firestorm Redoubt, etc.).

Been a while since then though.
