Unless I'm misreading it's a two week kick-start, so start of December. 14 months later shipping commences, so Feb 2022. Shipping finished 20 weeks later, so July 2022. That doesn't seem worth it.

I noticed that, too. And for all their pre-launch hype and ongoing update newsletters while the campaign is active they never mentioned that critical detail (unless I missed it in the crush of information).

And, like others have said, it seems a bit generic right now. I'm a sucker for dungeon crawls but this one just doesn't grab me. Neither did Darkest Dungeon so maybe even I've reached my saturation point.

The sooner you do that, the better! Besides, all my dice-chucking dungeoncrawlers got fired by Gloomhaven, anyway.

Anyway, don't believe in estimated shipping dates for any project. RE3 was supposed to be delivered in June, and DMC in July. SFG *could* give you a delivery date that's sooner, even if they couldn't fulfill it by then.

Still, I guess Steamforged is doing something right. I'm on the Dire Alliance KS, and it's been stalling for days.

I guess I should have clarified further - I don’t have any Steamforge experience - if it’s the same as Guildball and their other board games, is that what you’d consider ‘good’?

They are softer on the detail than their metals or resins, and there are some who did not like them, but I personally found them more than acceptable. When painted up they tended to look just as good imho. There Were some notable exceptions, like one specific character from a team who was super botched on initial release and who had a face that looked like it had been done by an amateur Spanish art restorer. That was fixed and people sent replacements iirc. One definite problem with their plastic was chronic delays there at the end of guilt ball. Teams getting their release pushed back Months because of failed deliveries by the manufacturers. They don’t Appear to have that problem with God Tear at the moment, but they also don’t seem to advertise characters as far in advance.

TLR - Good quality for board games plastics, but might suffer delays.

Literally depends on if there's an R in the month.

I've painted 4 different PVC teams for Guildball, they've ranged from really comparable to the best you'll see, to wide ranging replacements for miscasts, to acceptable, to both the best and absolute trash in the same box.

I'll make no secret I'm still salty about GB, but after painting the last PVC box only a few weeks ago, I literally just had to say feth it and just splash vaguely appropriate coloured paint on some bits of models because the detail was so soft it wasn't clear what details were, or were the began or ended.

Still, I suppose I'll see - I stayed in as overall the campaign, game, miniatures and monsters appealed...

Fingers crossed on the overall quality of the sculpts and casts!

Assuming Russ is still doing almost all the sculpts, then there's unlikely to be any issue with the actual designs. Whether the finished article is equal to them is the main question.

Some of it will be expectations too, what's not acceptable to me as part of an extremely low count skirmish game at about $10 a model is less likely to offend as a bucket o' monsters dungeon box at $1 or so a model.

Falconers? Minerva? Or which team/character out of curiosity?

Cooks. Several of them.

Sugar is a mess where the utensils around her waist, her apron and Chef Whites all sort of blend together, some details disappear or run into one another, Pepper is just sat on a blob of.. something and Wellington's face is just a potato with a beard shaped potato stuck to it and while I knew I didn't much like Spice's sculpt going in, the mess of awkward posing, odd proportions and straight up strange concept makes her, without contest, the worst mini design in the whole game for me.

By contrast, Roast was just a joy to paint, full of character and well realised details, and Cinnamon looked rough to start with, but once I got some colour on her the details began to separate out and I'm ultimately really pleased with her.

Fortunately managed to grab an Alt Welly in the oh so much better resin so I'll circle back and replace the PVC one at some point.
