Mixing Fyreslayers and Kharadron makes no sense. It would be like mixing the elf factions just because they are elfs. They are both proper AoS factions with their own culture, identity and gameplay.

Cities of Sigmar, Mawtribes and Orruks are different because Cities was a mix of all fantasy left overs and the orruk and mawtribes books were putting back together stuff that was separated in the initial AoS wave from Fantasy (I know Ironjawz are a AoS faction but they are basically black orcs), no different than the stormcast battletome mixing Warrior and Extremis Chambers.

I think the the only thing that irks* me about the spoiler reveal regarding FS and KO getting closer is that it only mentions FS and KO. If it had mentioned Dispossessed and Ironweld as well, I'd probably be more accepting. Just the 2 factions combining seems like a lost opportunity, but combining them all just makes more sense.

The White Dwarf serial about the... uh... White Dwarf roaming around working with various Duardin cultures does lead me to believe that it will ultimately unify all of the disparate factions.

Yeah I would assume the tome would be just fireslayers and KO. Dispossessed are not really a faction, they're some legacy units they aren't ready to drop yet. And to me it doesn't make sense to start peeling this stuff away from Cities of Sigmar until they have something lined up to replace that.

Why not put all the armies in one book for each alliance? Idoneth, DoK and Lumineth should also be squeezed in one book, and after that Khorne and Tzeench.

Those were the grand alliance books before everyone had battletomes.
