I think by the rules of Jurassic Park kids don't get eaten. Well, maybe in Jurassic World, somewhere in the background where it's not so obvious. Maisie's a protagonist, so she's in the clear.
Wasn't a good movie. I really like Jurassic Park and Jurassic World, but it seems like the good movies are exclusively those with a park. Once they move away from that, it gets bad.
There was no buildup to the big dino fight, so I never even got to figure out which one to root for, but we knew the T-Rex was going to win anyway, so I guess there was no point in pretending. There wasn't even much in the way of dinosaur related fatalities. I think the most fun to watch were the Carnotauruses on Malta. Not a good sign if the sideshow is better than the finale.
The rest is pretty loosely strung together scenes, a weird doomsday scenario and cookie cutter evil corporations doing what cookie cutter evil corporations do. On that note, did they style the CEO after Steve Jobs?
I think the cast was too big, too. There were some fun interactions, but none of them got enough screen time to actually get to do much, or drive much of a plot with much of a point.
I reckon most of that wouldn't be so bad if the dinosaur action was handled right, but eh. Maybe they'll start another trilogy called Jurassic Universe ten years from now and we get another good movie with a park in it.
