I stil have my resin 1st ones. Still great sculpts, at 28-30 size range.

At Games Workshop, we believe that how you behave does matter. We believe this so strongly that we have written it down in the Games Workshop Book. There is a section in the book where we talk about the values we expect all staff to demonstrate in their working lives. These values are Lawyers, Guns and Money.

I'd be interested if I knew three things:

1) How well paint adheres to the material

2) How bendy they are

3) How these compare scale-wise to other 30mm minis on the market. Tre is a great sculptor but his minis tend to be very slight compared to other manufacturers.

Hey Guys!

Brisk and informative discussion! Thanks for everyone who participated it is very informative for me and my future plans.

I have current plans for a HIPS sprue. This has always been the goal for me. However I did not think ti was an attainable goal until very recently POST arrangements for these figures to be cast in SioCast.

I am still on the fence about the materials I am going to produce my goblins in. Siocast certainly has it's benefits but I am nto sure if it will work as my go to solution for production just yet.

Metal HAS been coming down in price.... Thank goodness for that because it was totally unaffordable for some time now. It is more expensive than plastic pound for pound. BUT I can get metal castings into production and delivered in smaller quantities faster. So it is not out of the question yet.

So to answer a couple questions here.

RBG scale....... Well this has always been a bit of a sticking point. I purposely made my original goblins tiny- TOO tiny now looking back. And my Elves were also specifically made to be noticeably smaller than the humans. Some humans ended up being smaller than I wanted but for the most part I think people got the wrong idea about my scale from a very small selection of my stuff.

Yes RBG scale is different than GW or Reaper but it has always been a matter of style over scale. Reaper and GW are not " scale " models at all. Their proportions are very exaggerated ( GW significantly less so in recent releases ) and are actually more like 45 mm scale proportions crammed into 35 mm of height.

RBG on the other hand I tried to make as close to realistically scaled as possible. So the proportions were visibly " smaller " than those of the heavy hitter lines, but the figures themselves are all based on a 35mm tall human male.

NOW..... The CURRENT scale of RBG figures, is slightly larger and thicker. Not significantly but it is noticeable. Comparing my modern Weglaf with my Old Weglaf the new version is a full head taller. and generally a little thicker, especially front to back which was a weakness in my hand sculpting.

SIOCAST..... Detail wise what I have seen has been nothing short of perfect. I have not held them in hand yet but I will be doing so probably this weekend when the initial order arrives from Popson which I am VERY much looking forward to. The hard Grade is not bendy. It has some flexibility but is not what you would call " bendy ". I very much look forward to getting these in hand and distributed to the buyers. I am quite anxious to see people's reactions to the castings.

Thanks for all the enthusiasm yall!

I really hope something along the plastic route works for you as I really do hate metal for miniatures. But I also understand, when it's affordable, it's usually the best option for smaller companies from a production/cost standpoint.

This is great news. I've backed one or two of Tre's kickstarters before, and loved all the minis I got from them.

Do we know if there will be a UK distributor, or even caster?

Victoria Miniatures is having her siocast KS running at the moment done by

" Miniature makers at De Tinnen Roos in the Netherlands. They will be making master molds and fulfilling EU and UK pledges.

In Australia, Aetherworks will be manufacturing and fulfilling Australian and New Zealand pledges. '

THank you for the info I will have to check in with both of them.

Also figured this would be important to post here. My good friend RIch at Games Plus sent me these scale comparison pics.

The warrior pictured is from my older hand sculpted range. The wizard character is from the new digitally sculpted stuff for reference.

I got my order in today and they're very good casts except for some bendy weapons. I'm going to see if I can straighten them out but the detail is really good.

I think a few of the swords are too thin which is causing some of the problems. I think this would be a very good replacement if there's something else, or even a different mix of siocast, that the weapons could be cast in from the rest of the figures -- Much like PVC minis.

I am REALLY looking forward to some Tre Manor plastics!

Are you partnering with Wargames Atlantic?

We are still ironing out the particulars of digital to tangible. I think I have it figured out now though so future projects IF they end up in SioCast will have more properly proportioned weapons and such.

I have talked with Wargames Atlantic and I do want to explore that option further. It is just a very intimidating prospect and I tend to be rather apprehensive of big projects in new materials. But it IS something I am working on.
