Had this happen twice over the last few days on my PC, using firefox. A reload solves the issue, but been getting it quite a bit on my phone while browsing. My phone won't show me to reload so i have to go back a page and the enter the thread again.

Makes one wonder if ad's aren't causing it? Aka one of those is missing certificate? As ad's aren't same on every page load(right?) Would explain why error happens only sometimes

Another could be if the site is spread over two servers and one is updated and one isn't. So the security certificate is showing valid for one and not the other?

How is it today? The autorenew worked for the cert, but it looks like it got cached in some places, and I'm wondering if that is a 24 hour cache?

No problems in the last hour so, but definitely had some this morning. I made my post here immediately after the first time I experienced the problem, so definitely not a 24h thing.

One of the web server threads cached the old certificate I think which is why the results were inconsistent. Noted for the future!
